From one night stand to happily ever after

Over the next few week it was spent with school work texting David and every now and then actually going out and hanging out with him. I know I gave in to the flirts just to mess with Cole just to prove a point but honestly it was a great idea for me he makes me happy there's almost the same connection I had with Cole but he's not an ass outside of that connection like cole is. Speaking of cole ever since that night he hardly talks to me so there's no fights which is a nice change I must say but he's been acting off and I don't mean with just me I mean with the guys with hockey with just everything and I feel like it's all my fault somehow. Right now cole was out at their practice rink trying to collect his thoughts and have some time to himself I guess so I knew I was safe to talk to the guys about it all as they were hanging out watching tv on the couch
L- hey guys can I talk to you about something
G- what's up sis
Dal- what's on your mind
L- am I the cause of cole being so off lately
Dal- Lauren
L- I know we argue all the time or well we did but ever since that night ever since me and David started whatever it is we have going on cole has changed and you know it and I feel bad especially since it's affecting him playing therefore affecting you all
G- look we can't really say but I do suggest you talk to him when he gets home and maybe see if you guys can put aside the anger the mixed emotions whatever it is you two have and actually be friends
L- do you think he will even let me near him long enough to even ask if we can talk
Dal- only one way to find out
L- ookk
Dal- I do suggest that when talking to him if you're successful enough to get him to hear you out don't bring up David
L- ok
I continued to sit on the couch with them watching tv waiting for cole to get back but the longer time passed the more nervous I became about talking to him to the point of having my knees pulled up to me my chin resting on them with my arms wrapped around them and finally cole came home mumbled hi to everyone and went straight for his room . I waited like a minute then headed over to his room and knocked on his door
C- come in
I walked in and I don't know if he said come in thinking it was the guys so no big deal or what but he was only in his underwear and I lost my words for a bit
C- oh Lauren hey I didn't think it was going to be you at the door
L- yeah I kinda figured
I giggled and closed the door behind me
C- what's up
L- I wanted to talk to you about everything
C- what do you mean
L- I wanted to apologize for lying apologizing for arguing with you for potentially hurting you and I was also curious if it's my fault for your change of mood lately
He sighed and sat down on his bed telling me to come sit as well.
C- in a sense yes it is because I always have you on my mind yes I know we were just a one night stand but the connection was hard to forget at least for me it was and honestly it seems like now you have that connection with him and if you're happy then I'm happy but it sucks but it's not like I thought we could be something but it's just difficult
L- cole I'm sorry and yes the connection was hard for me to forget too and well if you didn't act the way you did towards me I would've never even talked to him
C- wait really
L- yes
C- is it even real with him then
L- it's nothing official but yes
C- and you're happy
L- yes
C- then that's all that matters
L- are you going to be ok then are we going to be ok or are we going to go back to fighting or you ignoring me
C- well be good I'll be good
L- I sure hope so
I hugged him then I left so he could shower cause I guess that's what he was getting ready to do before I knocked on the door.
G- so how did it go
L- pretty good he said we're gonna be ok we can talk we won't fight and he said he will be ok moving forward
Dal- but are you ok now
L- I dont know
I walked back to my room and just laid down and looked at the ceiling never feeling more confused and lost than I do right now.
