Aurora's mother dropped her off at the Scobell household, the morning sun cast a warm glow over the scene.

Aurora stepped out of the car, her heart fluttering with anticipation as she spotted Walker waiting for her on the front porch.

"Hey, there you are," Walker greeted with a bright smile, his eyes lighting up as Aurora approached. He wrapped her in a tight hug, inhaling the scent of her hair as he pressed a gentle kiss to her cheek. "Good morning, beautiful."

Aurora's cheeks flushed with a rosy hue as she returned his embrace. "Morning,"

Jackie looked at heather then at the young couple and smiled warmly she watched the exchange "Have a great day, sweetheart, I'll see you later heather " she said

"Thanks, Mom," Aurora replied, her smile widening as she turned to Walker.

Walker grinned, . "Finally I was waiting for cuddles ," he replied, intertwining his fingers with hers as they made their way towards the front door.

Aurora spent the day at the Scobell household, enjoying the warmth of family and the comforting presence of Walker

she couldn't shake the feeling that something was amiss.

It was when Leena arrived with a friend that Aurora's unease intensified.

Leena's friend, a girl named Emily , exuded an air of hostility from the moment she stepped through the door.

Her icy glare and tight-lipped smile made it clear that she harbored some ill feelings towards Aurora, though they had never met before.

"Hey, Leena, who's your friend?" Walker asked, stepping into the room with a warm smile.

Leena gestured towards Emily with a forced smile. "This is Emily. She's new in town she moved three blocks away " she explained .

Emily's eyes narrowed as she glanced at Aurora, a flicker of disdain crossing her features. "Nice to meet you," she said curtly, her tone lacking any genuine warmth.

Aurora tried her best to be friendly, offering a polite greeting and a welcoming smile, but Emily's response was cold and dismissive. "Hi," she muttered, barely sparing Aurora a glance.

As the evening progressed, Aurora couldn't help but notice the subtle but frequent interactions between Walker and Emily. Despite his attempts to remain polite, Walker seemed uncomfortable with Emily's presence.

often finding reasons to draw closer to Aurora, wrapping his arm around her or pressing a tender kiss to her forehead whenever Emily was nearby.

Emily, however, seemed oblivious to Walker's disinterest, continuing to engage him in conversation and seeking his attention at every opportunity.

Aurora felt a pang of unease as she watched their interactions unfold, her instincts telling her that Emily's intentions were anything but innocent.

At one point, as they sat together on the couch, Emily scooted a little too close to Walker, her arm brushing against his as she leaned in to whisper something in his ear.

Aurora's heart skipped a beat as she caught the exchange, her stomach twisting with apprehension.

Walker gently but firmly redirected his attention back to Aurora, pulling her closer and pressing a reassuring kiss to her temple. "You okay?" he murmured, his voice low and soothing as he brushed a strand of hair away from her face.

Aurora nodded, leaning into his embrace and allowing herself to be comforted by his presence. "Yeah, I'm okay," she replied, her voice barely above a whisper.

Throughout the evening, Emily's attempts to insert herself into Walker's attention grew more persistent, but each time, Walker remained steadfast in his devotion to Aurora, never once faltering in his affection or attention towards her.

If only she knew
