Falling and Falling (poem)

They say there's a reason why things don't work out.

Maybe the timing isn't right. Maybe it's the wrong person.

Or maybe it's just wrong altogether.

It's frustrating when things don't fall into their rightful places.

You slip and fall again when you are so damn tired of slipping and falling.

You fall in love and then they'll break your heart.

Pound it. Smash it. Wreck it. Pulverize it.

There will come a time when bandaids won't work anymore.

That the wound would be too big to patch.

You'd want to heal but turns out there's no cure but to go over the same thing and hope for a different ending.

You're quickly losing hope 'cause you think they're all the same.

They will entice you with promises that they will break right after they were said.

They would tell you you're beautiful, then they'll leave you for someone prettier.

But I'll tell you this, my friend...

Nobody said that this will be easy.

Happiness won't just be handed over to you.

You'd have to look for it, you'd have to wait for it and maybe fight for it.

Love is a battlefield and you're a willing victim.

Armed with your rifle and hope that you'd survive, you charge, head on.

That's what falling feels like.

You let it go, pretend that you have wings just so you could fly in the tiniest fraction of time.

And then you'll hit the ground... and then you'll break.

You will bleed. It would be painful.

But you will heal and you will learn and you will love again.

Pick the broken pieces of your heart and dust yourself up because no matter how hard it is to believe...

Things will get better.

You won't stay broken. Someone would be there to patch you up.

Someone who might be as torn apart as you are.

Someone who's also so tired of falling and failing but keeps on trying, hoping that one day, they'd find you on the ground.

And maybe you could stitch up each other's torn hearts.

And then maybe things would fall into place.

Maybe it would be the right time and the right person.

And maybe you will see now why things didn't work out with anybody else.
