Dylan’s P.O.V.

I look towards the tent that Isabelle has just disappeared into, if it had a door I’m sure she would have slammed it. It’s7 o’clock meaning that we have been officially on this mission for around 5 hours. In those five hours I have managed to nearly ruin the interior of an expensive car, been close to a fight with Drake, threatened Eric more times than I can count, had two heated moments with Isabelle and now seriously upset her. It’s going well. I can’t help but think that I should maybe just leave, but of course I can’t bring myself to do it. Isabelle’s out here and that’s where I need to be. I can tell myself it’s for her protection and that I need to keep an eye on her, but what’s the point in lying to myself. The real reason I’m here is because I just want to spend as much time as I can with her and I, well I think I might… I shake my head, I can’t think like that, its way too soon to think like that. Especially when she hates me… again.

I flop down to the forest floor and stare up at the sky, the clouds that covered the skies during the day like a ceiling have disappeared and now it’s just a wide expanse of inky blackness and stars as far as the eye can see. If Isabelle wasn’t stubbornly refusing to come out of her tent she’d love it. I sigh, women are so difficult and I’m not even going to pretend that I have an understanding of them.

The sound of the crackling fire sooths me in a sleepy state, we have yet to eat and the smell of cooking meat fills my nostrils and makes my stomach growl.

Folding my arms beneath my head I continue starting at the stars whilst I once again think back to the events that have occurred today.

The car journey here had been an interesting one, I had obviously gotten the short straw as I was stuck with the twins and Eric. I couldn’t help but ask Eric the question that had been on my mind.

“Why do you not seem to be able to meet my mate without touching her inappropriately?” I ask through gritted teeth. The twins who had been arguing suddenly fall quiet and wait for Eric’s answer.

“Well I see it like this. Every guy, including yourself, on this trip, would like to get his hands on those curves. Only I seem to be the only one who actually has the balls to do it. And unless she admits to being exclusively yours I don’t think you have any right to get angry about it.”

“I have every right to get angry about it! She isn’t just some high school girlfriend you can steal away, she’s my mate. You only get one and this one is mine! So back off.”

“Dylan, calm down. Your hands are tearing through the headrest!” One of the twins shouts at me. Why do I care about the headrest? I look to my hands and find that I have indeed torn a hole in the expensive leather. “You guys are going to have to learn to get along on for the duration of this mission, it could mean life or death for the rest of us, especially for the girl who can’t change.” That was like a physical blow, it’s my fault she can’t change after all.

The rest of the journey was spent in either deathly silence or the twins bickering amongst themselves.

I’m now starting to see that the kiss may have been a bit much. But I’m not sorry I did it, I have wanted to kiss her ever since her birthday party, granted my motives were a little off but I enjoyed every second. So did she, until Eric helped her see the real reason behind it. There is something strange about him, he is too calm all the time, especially since, if we find him, we are going to be going up against the Dark Wolf. I don’t trust him and that’s something I’m not going to keep a secret.
