Isabelle’s P.O.V.

The light of the morning sun streaming through the thin material of my tent is what wakes me from my dream. Damn, I was having a really good dream and wasn’t ready for it to end. I dreamt that I was wolf, I was running through field after pretty field surrounded by colourful and fragrant flowers, the fields were alive with the sounds of crickets and bees, but none of this mattered because my sense were entirely focused on the sandy wolf running besides me.

The smell of cooked meat has me practically drooling, I could also kill for a drink. I move to get up only to find myself stuck where I am. It feels like I have an anchor wrapped around me, I’m going nowhere. Looking down I see that it’s an arm. Turning over I am met with the adorable sleeping face of Dylan. Confusion floods through me for a moment before I remember our conversation from the night before and the fact that I asked him if he would stay with me.

He really is cute when he’s asleep I can’t help but run my fingers gently through his silky blonde hair.

I attempt again to shift his arm, no luck. Plan b, I poke his chest. “Dylan.” I shake him, nothing. “Dylan wake up, I’m hungry.” I whine. Still nothing, jeez this guy is a heavy sleeper; he’d be no good if we were under attack. That thought gives me an idea. “Dylan! Dylan help me! Please Dylan.” In an instant he is on top of me growling, his head spinning around looking for an imaginary threat. I can’t help it ,I burst out laughing. “Morning Dylan.” I manage to get out between bursts of laughter. “You should have seen your face!”

“Isabelle!” He growls. “I thought you were in trouble.”

“I was in trouble, I was about to starve to death and your vice like grip was the thing keeping me from my food.” I say making my way towards the tent flap. I risk a glance over my shoulder to see him put his head in his hands. “Are you okay?”

“Fine.” He says stiffly. “I just almost had a heart attack thinking you were in danger, don’t mind me.”

“Awww I’m sorry baby.” I coo. “If I makes you feel better I’ll save you a seat next to me at thecampfire.” He doesn’t reply, so still laughing I climb out of the tent. It’s chilly out here and I’m dressed completely inappropriately in a thin top with no sleeves and a pair of shorts. In my defence I wasn’t going to get changed with Dylan in the tent now was I? I can feel the goose bumps rising across the skin of my legs arms and chest. Quickly I make my way over to the campfire, where Dom is watching over breakfast and chatting to Drake. Drake looks up at the sound of my presence and smiles sadly at me. “Hey Drake, Dom. How are you?”

“Morning Bells, I’m doing as well as can be imagined.” Drake replies pulling me into his lap and shielding me from the cold air.

“When are we setting off?” I ask craning my neck backwards to look into his face.

“Just as soon as we have eaten and packed away.” I pick up the flask from next to Drake and take large mouthful.

“Much better. So what have we got to eat?” I say wanting to change the topic. I know that Drake’s mind will never be far from thoughts of Elle but if I can avoid sending his thoughts there I will.

“The guys who went out this morning stumbled across a wild boar, so we have bacon.” That would explain the smell and the noises coming from my stomach.
