Eight-Someone’s Got A Crush On Nell!

So, it turns out not just me and Clinton are going to my condo to pick up some things.

Everybody is.

This includes me, Clinton, Henry, Bart, Charles, and Edward stuck inside a five seater car during awkward silence. Oh, did I mention I have to sit on Charles’s lap? Yeah. Adds to the awkwardness.

“Why don’t you have more than one car?” I ask Clinton, who’s driving.

“We do have more than one car.” He smirks, glancing my direction.

“Then why are we all scrunched up in this clown car?” I growl, making Bart snicker.

“Because I wanted to save gas.” Was his oh so dumb reply.

“Clinton, can you speed up, please?!” Charles begs. I don’t blame him.

“Do I take a right here, Nora?” He ignores his brother, going slower than we were just to bug him.

“Yeah, then just take a left and we should be there.” I gasp and my eyes widen. “What happens if Nell’s home?”

“Shit. Didn’t think of that…” Clinton mutters, shaking his head.

I snap my fingers. “Got it. I’ll tell her that I’m staying with you guys.”

“No!” All five of them growl, making me smirk and roll my eyes.

“That’s not what I meant, idiots. I meant I’m staying with you guys as friends, not kidnappers. She’ll believe it, trust me. Once I convinced her that her hair was chocolate spaghetti. She was 20 when I told her that.” Bart howls in laughter, making me giggle.

“We’re here!” Edward chirps happily, sliding out of the car. I quickly jump off Charles’s lap, and he sighs with relief. Hey, I don’t blame him. It would be very weird sitting on a vampire’s lap in awkward silence. Yeah, see my point?

“Come on, the elevator’s inside.” I pull on Bart’s hand, making everybody follow me. The inside leads us to the main room, where Burney, the security monitor, stays and eats donuts all day. The marble floors and huge chandelier make it feels like your checking into a hotel.

“Hey, Nora! I haven’t seen you around much. Do you got a new boyfriend?” Burney waggles his eyes at the five brothers behind me.

I blush, giggling and shaking my head. “No Burney. I’m staying with these guys for a couple of days to get away from my sister. Did you know she left me at a club, walking home? She got drunk and went off with some dude. Don’t tell Destiny though, she might get mad at you for gossiping again.” Burney’s a huge gossiper. Whatever he hears, he passes it on like the flu.

He booms his loud chuckle while cracking a grin. “No worries. I’ll tell everybody but her.” He winks, and I giggle. I turn towards the elevator to see everybody staring at me with shocked and amused eyes.

“What?” I put a hand on my hip, my eyebrows furrowing.

“Cute.” Bart says, chuckling.

“What’s cute?” I say, annoyed now.

“You are. Most people would go screaming and telling them all about the situation right now, but not you.” Edward says, smirking.

Then it clicked in my head. I just lied Burney instead of saying I got kidnapped by vampires. “Oh.”
