I've been so obsessed with sheet masks this past year I've hardly used any clay masks. But when I heard by brother-in-law's girlfriend raving about this mask, I went out to buy it right away (It's dangerous working so close to Toronto's biggest Mall, The Eaton Centre)

This mask is great because it's both a clarifying mask, and also an exfoliator. It's kaolin clay filled with finely ground coffee. You apply it like a normal clay mask, spreading it over your face in an even layer and leave it on for 10 minutes. Then, instead of washing right off, you add some water to your face and rub it in, using the coffee to exfoliate before rinsing it away.

The clay makes my skin feel fresh and clean while the coffee sloughs off any dead skin and evens out the texture of my skin. I was worried the coffee would be too gritty and irritating, but it was gentler than expected. It smells better than any mask I've ever used, like creamy coffee. It can be used as a body mask too, but I haven't tried that yet. Its also extremely reasonably priced at $10.95 CAD for a 150g pot. It comes in a 325g size too, but since lush products are all natural, they do go bad quicker and you might have a hard time using it all up before it expires.

Now that I've rediscovered clay masks, I'm obsessed and looking for more recommendations. So please tell me if you have a favourite in your regular rotation!
