January Favourites

How is it February already? I haven't even gotten used to dating things 2017 yet and January has just flown by. I love seeing all my favourite YouTubers post their monthly favourite videos, and thought I'd share the new purchases I've been using all month.

TIGI Fashionista Brunette Mask

My hair is almost back to it's pre-blonde healthy condition and I credit this with a lot of that. I've been using this mask about twice a week to make my hair feel so soft and healthy. It also contains a bit of colour to keep brunette shades from fading and it smells *SO GOOD*. Seriously, I would buy the perfume if they made it. It smells similar to Moroccan Oil, but sweeter and more vanilla-y.

Kypris Everything

I posted in my Christmas wishlist that I wanted the Kypris Beauty Elixir, but I loved my sample so much that I couldn't wait until then and just bought it for myself the day after my post (and talked zoedinovi into it too). It's so expensive, but my skin feels amazing, even in this awful winter weather. I'm an easy upsell, and things quickly escalated to the point that most of my skincare routine is now kypris products.

My husband doesn't share my interest in perfumes. He's the kind of guy who likes lemon scent only in cleaning products, will complain that he can smell scented candles across the room that aren't even lit, and would never wear a cologne. So all of this made it extra special that he went to Holt Renfrew to smell a million perfumes and choose one he thought I'd love, and he was right. It smells clean and fresh and has creamy floral notes. I've been wearing it since the holidays. It reminds me of the first day of spring while we're still stuck in the middle of winter here. I love that he recognizes when I wear it and tells me how good I smell.

Uggs

My aunt cannot keep a secret, and when she bought me Uggs for Christmas, she was so excited about them she told me as soon as she bought them a few weeks before the holiday and I was horrified. Uggs!? Yes, I'd said I wanted them, but that was a decade ago when I was in university. Then she told me they were blue and that just made it worse in my head. Baby Blue? Electric blue? Did she even know me?

But then Christmas came around I opened them and I was so wrong. They're a bit of an update on the classic ugg, so they're less round in the toe with a slightly elevated heel. They're more of a muted navy, which I love. And they're so, so, so comfy I've basically worn them every day. I've even become one of those people who changes into nice indoor shoes at work.

Kiehls Creme du Corps

In a totally basic move, I joined a new gym for January. I moved halfway through last year and in the move I lost access to the amazing boxing gym that was right behind my old place and haven't really gotten into a good workout groove since. After trying a few out near my new spot I joined Equinox gym because a huge selling point for me was that their change rooms are fully stocked with Kiehl's products. I love not having to carry toiletries with me and having a luxe shower in their spa-like locker room after a workout is a huge motivator for me. I fell so madly in love with their moisturizer that I had to get my own to keep at home. It's a thick heavy moisturizer that feels greasy when you first put it on, but it quickly absorbs into the skin. I've been using it every day and I don't even remember my skin ever feeling this silky before.

MZ Wallace Sutton Bag

With all my recent gym trips, I wanted an updated bag that I could use as an everyday bag at the office too. I couldn't get this one out of my head after seeing it in a refinery29 stylish gym bag round up, but it was ridiculously expensive. I liked that it was a super light fabric, had lots of storage and interior bags, and had chic quilting on it (quilting always reminds me of Chanel).

A regular trick of mine is to set up an eBay alert to be emailed if anyone lists one, and this comes in handy especially after the holidays when so many people are looking to turn unwanted gifts into cash. I was lucky that a teen in the Midwest didn't want hers, and I scooped it up at a fraction of the price. I highly recommend settling up a watch list for those items you love, but would never shell out full price for - just check the sellers ratings!
