But when Kim asked her what the most popular shade in their new Hot Lips collection was, the woman at the counter gave a different answer than she told me when I visited (though I can't blame her, if Kim asked me, I'd lie to her too).

The new Hot Lips collection is 12 colours all developed with different celebrities (along with a few quasi-celebrities I didn't recognize) and $1 from each purchase goes to the charity Women for Women International.
When I first heard about the collection, I was most excited about the Kim KW colour and went to the Charlotte Tilbury counter to try it out. But when I put it on, it was so unflattering on me and made me look pale and sick. The makeup artist at the counter encouraged me to try Salma Hayek's shade, Secret Salma, instead. She told me it had been the sleeper hit of the collection and the most popular.

If you spend any time on makeup review sites or beauty blogs, you'll come across the term MLBB, which stands for my lips but better. It's a colour that's just a bit off of your natural colour and different for everyone. Sometimes a bit more neutral, more brown, or more pink - but when you find it it just lights up your face. Your complexion looks better, it brings out the colour in your eyes and butterflies and rainbows appear. Everyone needs one - or 10 - in their collection.

Secret Salma is my new favourite MLBB. It's a bit pinker than my natural colour and super flattering. It's easy to wear anywhere without feeling too made up, but it just makes me feel more polished. The finish is Charlotte's modern matte, which is more moisturizing than any matte colour I've ever tried and a more natural finish than a drying liquid lipstick. I also love the scent, which reminds me of the pastel candy shells of Cadbury mini eggs.
