                                                                     82.

The word girlfriend said out loud by someone else besides Tyler, along with my real name coming out right after, was quite a bit scary, if I might say, but Leroy’s face was definitely worth the butterflies in my stomach. His eyes were widened, flicking between Harry and I, his mouth slightly agape.

Harry squeezed my hand tighter at a certain moment, his eyes showing as much amusement as I was feeling inside, and so I got closer to him, wrapped my arms around his waist and laid my head on his shoulder, waiting for the moment Leroy would manage to choke something out.

“You- what?” was the smartest thing he came up with. Honestly, I was expecting better.

Harry chuckled into my hair, tucked me impossibly closer and just shrugged at Leroy as if what he’d just said wasn’t anything much, anyway. It’s not like I’d prohibited my own brother of calling me that way for eight years. It’s not like he hadn’t seen me with anyone else throughout that whole time besides Tyler. It’s not like that whole thing was nearly an apocalypse, on my own ways.

Except it was.

“You sure my charm didn’t work?” Harry raised an eyebrow then, and Leroy was still too utterly shocked to even think about something proper to say besides ‘how the f–ck’. That was probably one of the most hilarious moments I’d witnessed.

“Okay, Lee. I get it, you're surprised and everything, and now that Harry has bragged enough about it, I think we’ll just leave you digesting it all. I still want to know where the hell you’re taking me, and I really hope there’s food because I’m starving.”

For the last part to be said, I turned to the curly boy next to me, pressing my chin against his shoulder and poking his sides lightly, grinning evilly when he flinched quickly, always ticklish, that one. In response, he glared at me, both of us becoming oblivious to the confused man in front of us. That would probably take Leroy a couple of years, maybe, to comprehend was actually real.

“Not yet, no,” Harry objected, leaning against the counter and snapping his fingers in front of Leroy’s face. “Hey, Lawson, you still there?”

Lee blinked out of his trance quickly, shaking his head to recompose, and not a second later he was glaring and growling at Harry. “Careful with the intimacy, kid.”

I could only roll my eyes at the way Harry seemed taken aback for a moment, actually believing Leo was going to kill him or somewhat, so I just stepped closer again, this time literally clinging to him, feeling his slightly trembling arms wrapping around my shoulders for both support and comfort.

“Anyway,” he giggled breathily, then, focusing on Lee again. “I was wondering if you’d like to go out with us? Just quick dinner, nothing much, because, I don’t know. I thought it’d be nice to go out with her family or whatever she gets closest to it.”

I puffed out a loud breath, rolling my eyes to the back of my head, hoping it was visible enough to both of them. Then something like a grunt came out of my lips, this one certainly audible enough so they could turn their focus to me.

“Styles, no,” I whined, way too childishly. “I don’t want to go out with my brother. It’s my brother, and do you have any idea of what a pain in the ass he is?”

It was Leroy’s time to growl in frustration, wiggling his eyebrows as if he was actually surprised I’d said such a thing. I just blew him a fake affectionate kiss, at which he simply did what I’d do: roll his eyes. Family thing, I suppose.
