(three days before prom)

I was laying in bed, finally able to try and get some sleep. I was exhausted and had been barely functioning. My head pounded like a beating drum, and it took all of my will power not to scream out in rage.

"You look bad," I heard Rhett say from the door. "You alright?" Concern was evident in his voice, and I knew that it was because I didn't really let pain stop me from doing something, like sleep.

"No," I said, my voice shaking in pain. "My head. It hurts." I grabbed my head and groaned, trying to stop the pain from hurting. "I am trying to make the bubble, but it is not working." Frustration filled my voice. "I know it isn't anything to do with Cooper or Vulcan."

I didn't need to look at Rhett to know that he was frowning. Warm hands touched my shoulders, and he gently placed me on my back. He touched my forehead and muttered a curse word under his breath. His hand disappeared, and there were loud noises as he was looking through something. "Sorry," he apologized when I groaned. He found what he was looking for and came back over me. "Here," he said. "Queen Tabitha said that you would be feeling like this until you and Cooper mated."

"That is just so fan-fucking-tastic," I grumbled. I took the pill and sighed with relief when my headache stopped. "When did she give me those?"

"Three weeks ago," Rhett said. "You weren't here, again." He gave me a pointed look, causing me to shrug.

"Why are you here?" I asked. "I thought you were going to spend the day with Gigi."

Rhett shrugged and smirked. "You will figure it out later. Get changed into something fancy. Captain's orders."

I closed my eyes and smiled. Because Cooper gave his position to me, we started to call him 'Captain'. I could tell that he liked that idea, even though he was not called "Alpha" anymore by the pack. "And, why does the Captain want me to be dressed in something nice?"

"He just does. Gigi and Becca are on their way up. They are supposed to do something to you."

I mentally groaned and opened my eyes to look at my brother. "Do I even have a choice?"

Rhett smirked when there was a knock on the door. He opened it to reveal an excited Gigi and Becca. "Be glad that he didn't bring all the girls."

I moaned and glared at my brother. "Sleep with one eye open," I warned just as Gigi and Becca ushered me into the bathroom.

'I love you, Sis.'

'Fuck off.'

After an hour and thirty gruesome minutes of Gigi and Becca doing everything from waxing to shampooing, I was finally ready to go and do whatever the fuck that my mate wanted me to do.

I had tried to ask my best friend and Becca, but they wouldn't give me any information whatsoever. All they did was to sing louder Disney songs, blowing out my eardrums. I swear, they can't sing loud.

"There, now you are ready," Gigi sung, finally letting me up.

"Not yet," Becca sung. "Be-"

"Ok, enough Mulan," I groaned. "Am I finished?"

"Yes," Becca said. She helped me stand and snickered when I tried to walk in heels. "That is one thing you will never master," she said.

I glared at them and kicked off the heels. "Shut up," I grumbled. "Can I at least wear my boots?"

Gigi and Becca looked at each other and smirked as if they all ready knew that I was going to ask that. The looked at me and smiled, innocently. "No," they said in unison.

I bit back a groan. "Fine," I am going to just have no shoes on." I raised my hand to stop them from protesting. "I don't want to wear heels or flats, and I probably would have kicked them off anyways if we were going outside."

Gigi and Becca looked at each other again. They shrugged, because they knew that what I had said was true.

"Go look at yourself in the mirror," Gigi said. There was a smile on her face, and I could tell that she was happy with the outcome.

I pursed my lips and debated. "I, honestly, just want to find Cooper," I said. "I haven't seen him when I got back, and I think he is getting impatient."

Gigi and Becca shrugged. They went to the door and opened it to show the bedroom completely changed with red and white roses and candles.

"Oh my," I said, stepping into my bedroom. I looked around, and I couldn't help but be impressed. "I didn't know Cooper was a romantic," I added.

"He isn't," Gigi said, snickering. "He had Thaddie and Cris write stuff for him."

I scrunched up my face when I saw that there was a note on my bed. "And, he couldn't have chosen someone else to do it?"

"They wanted to do it," Gigi said. "Now, enough talking. Go read what it says."

"I am, honestly, scared," I said. "There is no way of telling what they had written." I walked over to the note and bit my lip, tasting the chapstick that they used on my lips. I looked at my two friends and sighed. "Ready?" I asked.

They nodded. They were both nervous, and I could tell that they had no idea what those two had said on them.

I opened up the first note and snorted at what it said. "'My Dearest Rylan, who hates flyin'. Come play and save the day. Have some fun or nun. Now, stop your bitchin' and come to the kitchen.' What the fuck?" I asked, looking at them. I couldn't help but be amused at what they had written. "So, am I on a scavenger hunt?"

"Yes," GIgi said.

"Was that all on the card or was there more?" Becca asked.

"Oh, there was more," I said. "But, that was basically a summary." I read over the card again. "They rhymed time with rhyme."

"Well, they aren't the sharpest tools in the shed," Becca said.

I snorted and nodded. "You got that right. Come on, 'let's stop our bitchin' and go to the kitchen'."

They laughed and followed me out of my room and down to the kitchen.

By the time I made it to Cooper, I was sure that my makeup was running down my face. I could hardly breathe and enjoy the view because I was laughing so hard at what Thaddie and Chris had wrote.

Cooper frowned but relaxed when he saw that I was smiling. He opened the note in his hands and cleared his throat. "'So there is no time to delay and no time to play. So, look at your palm and-' what the fuck and am I reading?" he asked.

I snickered. "That is why I am crying," I said. I looked to see where Thaddie and Chris were sitting on the ground, both looking half asleep. "You two did try, I give you that much, but don't try it again. You don't have that many brain cells left."

Thaddie scowled and flicked me the bird. He tried to speak, but it only came out as a yawn.

"Anyways," Cooper said, pulling my attention to me. He cleared his throat and pulled at his tie. He looked rather uncomfortable in his suit, and I couldn't help but notice that he didn't like the way his hair looked like Draco Malfoy's hair did in the first Harry Potter movie. "I was wondering if you would like to be my date to prom." He smiled at me, nervously and handed me a boutique full of Asters.

I took the flowers and smiled them before smiling at my mate. I love this bo- no man, and I didn't know what I would do without him. Sure, I was still nervous about being mated to him, but I knew that it was mainly in my head. It was one battle that I tried to fight but never could seem to win over.

"Well?" Cooper asked when I didn't answer off the bat. He shifted on his feet, and he looked cute when he was nervous.

"I thought I was going to be going with you, anyways," I said, causing him to relax, slightly. "So, my answer is yes."
