Trembling, Annabeth threw on her jacket. She couldn't tell whether she was shaking from fear or anger, but she didnt care. All she felt was numb.

She picked up her phone, her breathing ragged and shallow. A tear fell down her cheek as Percy's voice echoes through the speaker; he sounded sad, almost hesitant.

"Annabeth?" He says. "Meet me at mine in ten."

And with that, he hung up.

Annabeth sighed, willing herself off the floor where she sat, and walked to Percy's apartment block about 2 streets down. It took a few minutes, but eventually she was let in and got to his door.

"Percy?" She whispered as he opened the door. He looked terrible; his messy hair spiked in all directions and the bags under his eyes were a dark purple. He was wearing grey sweatpants and an oversized t-shirt, and slump against the door frame as he stood.

"Annabeth." He whispered, before swallowing harshly. "I-"

Annabeth stared into his eyes, hoping, praying that she was wrong; that her seaweed brain hadn't cheated - that he still loved her.

"Is it true?" She choked out, her voice angry and breaking. Percy said nothing: just stared blankly at her in shock.

"It it true?" Annabeth repeated firmly, her voice still trembling.

"I'm sorry" Percy said. His voice cracked as a single tear dripped down his cheek. "Annabeth I-"

But she didn't listen, stopping him in his tracks. "Why?" She said, raising her voice.

"Why?!" She repeated, venom dripping from her voice as her anger rose. Tears fell like raindrops from her grey eyes, and she refused to break eye contact.

"I..." Percy took a deep breath and continued. "I don't love you wise girl. Not like I did yesterday."

"Don't 'wise girl' me!" Annabeth shouted, taking several steps forward in anger. "How long Percy? How long did you not tell me?"

Percy gulped, Annabeth was terrifying when she was angry. "Since last month."

Annabeth stepped back, shaking her head. "Fuck you, Percy Jackson."

And then she left.
