Knock. Knock.

"Hoe, open the door before we slam it down ourselves!"

I hear a banging sound on the door repeatedly and it's best to get it before it falls over by accident.

"Girl, you look like death," Hannah deadpans.

I feel like it too, but who cares?

"Are you alright?" Kenya walks closer.
"No," I snap and let them in.

"Talk to us, seems like alot of drama has been going on in our absence," Hannah sits on the end of one of the couches.

"She's right. We've been postponing this and now we should know what the hell is going on," Kenya adds.
"So no girl's night out?" I raise an eyebrow lazily at them.

"There's a fine line between your situation being fixed, and forgetting about it entirely by going out with us. So, we're not taking chances today," Hannah pouts with a shrug.

"Start talking," Kenya slouches into the couch.

Wow...where do I even begin...

Christian is my boyfriend.

"Christian..." I begin.
"I knew it," Hannah's arms land on her thighs with a clap.
"Me too," Kenya nods.

"Yeah, the whole car swaps," Hannah mentions.
"His scent on you when I hugged you the other evening," Kenya rolls her eyes with a sly smile.
"The whole change of hairstyles," Hannah scoffs.
"Their kiss-" Kenya murmurs.

"What?!" Hannah gapes.

Oh gosh.

"They've kissed?!" Hannah's grin is now ear to ear.
"You can get the details from the horse's mouth,"
"Imani?"

I stare at them, all nonchalant because it's in the past after all.

"We did. But it's all in the past now," I lean my head on my arm.
"Rewind! How did this start?"

"He's- well, was... my boyfriend," I stare at the carpet.
"Was?"
"I don't want him anymore," I blurt out.

"Girl, you is a liaaar. You're just saying that to make yourself feel better,"
"Hannah," Kenya stops her.
"What? That's what she's doing,"

"He's a hypocrite," I defend my thoughts .

"How so?" Kenya asks, concern evident in her voice.
"He knows I have anger issues, he tells me to calm down, tell him what bothers me and yet he never did shit yesterday when he was in the hot seat!" I raise my voice.

"Wait, wait, wait, wait. How did y'all become an item so fast, Imani? I want to get clarity because I know for a fact-"

"That she's not the dating type?" Kenya cuts in and the two nod with each other like this is some pep talk.

"Carry on, Imani," Kenya smiles.

"Some lady interrupted Christian and I at Logan Square, and she threw herself on him, so I just had to keep her in her lane," I lift my chin in the air as I spoke.
