I lazily fix my dad a plate of food, favor smacks on her food purposely, she knew I hated that. "Shut uuuup!" I yell at her, she laughs loudly. I put my dads plate in the fridge for him later.

"You want a puff?" Favor offers me her blunt. "Favor.." I frown at her as she takes another hit. "Just once Tarah, be a little loose baby girl. Foreal, it ain't gon kill you." Favor smiles.

I hesitantly take the blunt from her hand inhaling the smoke, I release the smoke from my nose immediately relaxing.

"Damn girl, you done dis befo??" Favor cracks up, I roll my eyes smiling. "I went to High school fav, I've become tolerant to the weed. " I smile.

"Oh, so miss bible lover, choir singer ain't really dat good?" Fav smirks. I scoff laughing playfully "I'm only human fav." I smirk.

She rolls her eyes smiling. "Where's your dad?" Fav ask curiously. "At some bible study party putlock at church, I didn't go cuz he said it wasn't mandatory." I slump down taking another puff of the blunt.

"You better girl, from what I hear from that Grammy in church, that sexy dude who was here all week, is gonna pull up with his granny and a boatload of food." I sigh scratch my head. "I don't know, I-"

"Go get dressed Tarah, I mean it." Fav stares at me seriously, Ion kno why she feels so strongly about that guy an me. I groan walking upstairs to my room.

I change into a Long sleeve turtleneck crop top and figure hugging jeans. I put my hair in a bun slipping on my air Jordans. I apply my lip gloss jogging downstairs. Favor notices me smiling proudly. "Yaas, das my ma, casual but sexxxy babygirl."

I laugh doin a 360° before grabbing my phone. "Let's go, I wanna eat."

At the putlock

I slowly get out the car scanning the packed parking lot for my dad, if he knows I'm here he'll think I'm interested in preaching and he'd make  a big deal about it.

I spot my aunty Ryan. She catches me looking runs over to me giving me a huge hug. "Hey baaaybeh, you lookin niiice." She smiles kissing my cheek. "Thanks, how's mom?" I ask hopefully. My mom was.. well basically she's... shes a looney, insane, crazy. When I turned 7 she got in an accident that messed her up.

"She's good, she always ask about you, we'll before breaking into a dance number." I laugh at my auntys remark. Shes the only person who can joke about my mom's situation and crack me up.

"Ooh, don't look now but Mr.Sexynewchurchboy is checking you out." She winks, I turn back immediately spotting the sexy mystery man who was already watching me. "Go say hii.." My aunty pushes me.

I shyly walk over to him clearing my throat. "Hi, I'm Atarah we met yesterday, w-well you probably know that, u-unless you forgot, but it's okay if you did, not every humans perfect, not that your not handsome, I mean your really really really really good looking, like sexy, not that I wasn't thinking that, uh, i-"

He interrupts me with a chuckle and a small smirk that gave me goosebumps. "I'm Lorenzo.. it's nice to meet Atarah." He says with a thick Italian accent that made me shiver. We lock eyes smiling. Just then gunshots ring out.

Lorenzo pushes me to the ground covering my small body with his. I close my eyes tight, more shots ring out people scream. I shake in fear. "It's okay Bella I got you.."  Lorenzo strikes my head whispering in my ear.

Soon enough we hear police sirens approach. Lorenzo gets up slowly lifting me up gently. "Thank you.." I breath out still pretty shooken up.

A crowd forms around something, slowly approach the crowd, there laid Favors lifeless body. I run over to her shaking her feeling my heart pound against my chest "Favor, s-stop joking, g-get up.. Favor?! Favor!!" I shake her sobbing.

Lorenzo pulls me off her body as paramedics cover her body up picking her up. I sob harder staring at my hands coverdin her blood. Lorenzo pulls me into his chest rubbing my back as I sob onto him...
