Alexandru didn't want to go but he claimed that he needed food to strengthen himself after being burned as severely as he was by me. I kept apologizing about the whole situation but he told me to eat what I had made for ourselves.

He left and was back fairly quickly. That night, he held me in his arms in my bed. I decided to ask him more questions tomorrow. Tonight I got my lover back. I remembered my best friend.

I woke up before the vampire the next morning and watched him sleep. He wasn't breathing and he was still in the same position he had gone to bed in. I went to work at a children's nursery and left the apartment. I watched kids all day and wished I had vampire abilities to just pause time and give myself a breather. There was a little boy that had dark hair and brown eyes. He was fairly pale and I couldn't help but think of having my own Sebastian with Alexandru. I teared up a few times at work thinking about the curse the man was under. I want to help, and I know how to, but I could never do that to him or a child.

When I arrived back home late in the afternoon, Alexandru was cooking. Octavian was sitting on the couch reading a book.

"Octavian!" I ran over to the bald vampire and hugged him.

"I'm glad you're finally yourself." We laughed and enjoyed a meal together.

We stayed up all night and I knew I would struggle getting up in the morning.

They explained why they were in the U.S.. It was because of vampires. The clan that had been following Octavian and Alexandru was now creating rouge younglings. The past attacks on female women began to make sense. The vampires were hitting the major cities. Alexandru and Octavian took it upon themselves to take care of the problem. They had done a similar task during the 1940s through the 1980s. This raving vampire event was much smaller but more out of control. Alexandru also thought I was going to be in California with my aunt. I told him that he and I needed to meet. The boys went hunting after dinner and I cleaned up the kitchen and living room. I walked into my room and accidentally fell asleep before they got back.

I woke up the next morning with Alexandru's arm draped around me. Octavian was on the couch sleeping and had draped blankets against the windows to keep any sun from the morning peaking in on him while he slept. I went to work and met up with Debby.

"You want to work here too?" I asked as I held a kid in my arms. Debby was applying for a summer job and wanted experience with younger kids since this coming school year she would transfer to teaching elementary school kids. She seemed like she wasn't telling me something but I was also keeping the fact that two vampires were in my home. So even though I knew she was hiding something, I didn't worry about it. She asked how Carmichael was doing and I had to bite my tongue every time I was tempted to say his real name.

"He and I are getting along very well."

"That's good," she seemed a little sad.

"How are things going with Oct—Antonio?"

How hard was it for Octavian and Alexandru to refer to each other as those aliases?

"Oh, um it's going okay. He doesn't answer my calls or call me back. He and I need to talk about something but I can't get a hold of him."

"I'll talk to him," I said, waving the subject off.

"What do you mean 'you'll talk to him'? You hardly know the guy." If only she knew.

"Oh, he was over last night," I stupidly slipped. My eyes widened and I wanted to get rid of my ability to speak.

"He was over last night." Debby sat on one hip and folded her arms. Little kids ran around my legs and I felt just as small as them with my friend's eyes bearing down into my heart.

"He and Alexan—Carmichael are friends."

"Carmichael was over at your house last night? And Antonio?"

"We just had dinner together."

"Well, why wasn't I invited?" Debby's face was turning red.

"I don't know," She hadn't once popped up in my head upon seeing Octavian. I hadn't thought to ask him about her and why he chose to date her. Debby ignored me the rest of work and it made me upset. I couldn't wait to get back home and see my boyfriend.

I walked into my apartment and to my disappointment couldn't find Alexandru anywhere in sight. However, I found duffle bags in my front room. A lot of duffle bags. I walked up to them and kicked at them. Maybe Octavian and Alexandru planned on moving in.

Suddenly large dark arms wrapped themselves around me. I turned and found a very large black man wearing a shirt that was too small for his giant biceps and pecs. He had short, curly, brown hair and a nice looking beard. His pointy ears poked out more prominently than a vampire's and so did his fangs.

"Lukas!" I jumped awkwardly into the werewolf and he lifted me off the ground.

"I've missed you, Maggy."

"You're so big! And that voice! So deep." He hugged me again and almost squeezed me of life. "Are these all yours?" I asked, referring to the bags on the ground.

"Well," he scratched his fluffy hair with his strong claws. "they're not only mine." A small, blond woman walked into the front room.

"Hi," she said in a very soft voice.

"Maggy," Lukas began, "I'd like you to meet Ana-Maria, my wife." She came further into the room and stood at her husband's side. She was very cute and just about my size, all except the small protruding belly that she caressed. I then remembered Alexandru and Octavian talking about Lukas in the hot pots and how he had gotten a girl pregnant.

I hugged the girl with a broad, welcoming smile and she squeezed back.

"Lukas has told me so much about you, Maggy. Thank you for all that you've done for him and for me,"

I leaned in and whispered, knowing that Lukas could over hear me either way, and asked Ana-Maria, "Why did you choose this guy? You're far cuter than him," she laughed. Lukas didn't.

"Okay, okay." He said. He towered over us girls and I couldn't help but hug him again.

"It's so nice to see you again." I said.

"We didn't mean to barge in it's just, I was planning on coming with Alex and Tavian to take care of the vampire infestation over here in the states and well, got held down by a ring." Ana-Maria hit him, pretty hard too, but I knew he wasn't in the slightest affected by it. She wrapped her arm around his thick body and he placed a brown muscular arm on her slender shoulders. "I couldn't leave An in Romania by herself being as she is and I can't stay long separated from her." Must be a wolf thing. "And if I came to the U.S. with the guys, she would have to be home alone. So when Alexandru told me you got your memory back, he thought it would be a good idea for An to have someone while I was gone and you would be able to have someone who actually knew about us." I love Alexandru.

"I know why you guys came." I said with a smile. "I needed to see you, Lukas. And An, I have way too much to tell you. It's really hard keeping everything concealed from my coworkers."

"Trust me, I know." We both laughed.
