15. The Feast

Music is playing and everyone has been laughing and dancing for an hour now and still no sign of Coby. Alina whispers to me to please go check on Coby so I smile and nod.
This time I don't knock, I can sense him on the other side of the door and know he's not alone. I enter and see Milah buttoning his shirt buttons.
"I didn't know you weren't capable of dressing yourself. First I see her leaving your room in the early hours of the morning and now she's helping you get dressed. Please don't seem so torn up that you won't be spending the rest of your life with your mate."
"I should go" Milah says
"No, allow me but Alina would like Coby at her side ASAP"
I turn to walk out. "Milah leave" he says. She does as he asks quickly
Coby reaches me "Don't judge me Luna, you don't know me."
"Spare me" I shove past him and open the door. It slams shut in front me. His two arms are stretched out on each side of me. "Turn around Luna"
I turn and face him, he's breathing hard and so am I.

He inches closer and I step back until I hit the door "I wish you didn't have this affect on me but you do. I can't help but want you, you're my lifeline Luna." He cups my jaw and gently lifts it up. I let it fall to the ground and step out of it. I unbutton his shirt and he throws it to the couch and steps out of his shoes. He unbuttons his pants "lay down" he commands and I oblige
I have one leg up, I'm laying back on my elbows watching him undress. I still have my heels on. He takes my leg and runs kisses along my upper thigh. He slips my heels off and lifts me with one arm until my head is resting on the pillows. He cups my breast with his hand and takes the other in his mouth. We enter the mess hall hand in hand. Before we entered he pulled me in for a hug and thanked me for fulfilling his only request. For the rest of the night we eat, dance, and really enjoy each others company for the first time since I've been here. I think I'm happy for the first time too. At the end of the night he carries me to bed because its past midnight and my feet are killing me. Apparently it's an unspoken rule to dance with every pack member or you dishonor them if you decline. As we lay in bed, I rest my head on his chest feeling content. "Goodnight Luna" he kisses my head and turns off the lamp. I kiss his chest and whisper goodnight.
So he got his one request, I wonder how he will feel when he realizes I'm still leaving after the ceremony.
