"Can you drive any slower? You're going thirty miles per hour when the speed limit is forty," Yoongi groaned, rubbing the space between his eyebrows.

"I don't see you driving," I snapped, loosing focus and stalling the car so that we sat in the middle of a busy road with an endless amount of cars beeping their horns angrily. Yoongi sent me a smug look as if he was thoroughly enjoying my sheer embarrassment, hugging that blasted dog to his chest.

I had only been driving for an hour but him and 'Holly' were already best friends. He'd be patting and cooing at him for the entire journey and it was really starting to get on my nerves especially considering that, in the short breaks between talking to the dog, he decided to input snarky comments about my driving skills.

"I'm starting to think you didn't pass your test," he said, watching as I kickstarted the engine and the car began to move again.

"I have, you can check if you want." I grabbed my wallet, with a little manoeuvring from my part, and waved my driver's license in front of his eyes. "Look! I passed."

"Ok then," he said, picking at his nails, "When was the last time you actually drove a car?"

I paused for a second. "Five years?"

"That explains it. Can you turn right at this next corner?" He suddenly announced, pointing at an upcoming side street. I went to question his sudden decision, especially since the sat nav told me to keep driving straight, but decided against it when I saw the tense look on his face, his eyes narrowed into thin slits. Gulping, I smoothly pulled the car round the corner and flashed the nervous looking boy another look.

"What's going on?" I hissed between my teeth as the car rumbled over a pothole in the road.

"That car has been following us for half an hour."

I went to look up into the rearview mirror when a harsh hand wrapped around my hand. Without thinking, I went to shake off Yoongi's steel grip when I realised that the boy was still holding the dog, the animal curled up in his arms.

My breath hitched and I turned around only to be met with a wide eyed Namjoon, any trace of sleep wiped from his face. "Don't look, just keep driving."

I couldn't help but turn to look at the boy in alarm, my eyes widened in sudden panic. "Are we going to get into a car chase? I'm not that good of a driver."

Yoongi scoffed but I didn't even have the energy to shout at him, my entire attention focused on the fact that a car was trailing me like a villain in a James Bond movie. Namjoon patted my arm softly. "Just follow my directions."

He pointed at a sharp turn and I held my breath as I spun the steering wheel, the car only just missing the curb. Yoongi couldn't complain about my steady pace now, the car speeding down the road like a flash of thunder. The dog whinnied and the noise sent me on edge, my grip becoming impossibly tight as I got a slight glimpse at our pursuers.

They were too far away to recognise by face, not that I would know them, but there were at least three people in the large red vehicle. Namjoon shouted another abrupt command and the car tyres skidded against the gravel as I tried my best to follow his direction.

This erratic pattern continued for another fifteen minutes before we could no longer see the familiar car as we pulled out onto a busy road. The whole car seemed to relax slightly as everyone seemed to take a shaky breath, the panic suddenly over. Yoongi was the first to speak, turning around to face the boy in the back seat. "It was nice of you to finally join us. What happened?"

Namjoon's face was like thunder as he fell back into his seat, frantically typing something onto his cracked phone screen. After a coupe of seconds, he tossed the phone away and grunted in anger. "There's no signal," he said as Yoongi raised his eyebrows. "What did you say again?"

"What on earth happened to you? You look as though you've been ran over," Yoongi paused. "Twice."

The boy wasn't telling lies; now that Namjoon was awake, he looked impossibly worse than before. There was very little blood but he had a sore looking gash on his forehead and his eye was purple and black. The cherry at top to his whole bruised appearance was the split lip, swollen up like a balloon. Jin would go ballistic when he got a look of his wounded state.

"It was the Captain," Namjoon winced as he poked the long cut, brushing the blonde hair away from the sore patch.

Yoongi almost flew out of his seat as he rotated around, his eyebrows raised and his mouth dropped open in shock. "You're fucking joking! Right?"

Namjoon shook his head sadly. "When you left it turned into a massacre. They brought in more troops and we all had to split. It was our only chance of escaping." He winced again as a small trickle of blood began to escape from the wound. "I thought that I'd got away easily but there was someone tracking me. They're the one who gave me this. I managed to get away before they could do any worse but they're probably the person who called them."

He motioned backwards to the place where the red car should have been, if we hadn't shaken their trail, but I just paused, my whole body frozen. That person- could it be the person I saw in the woods? My hands begin to tremble and I tried to hide my fear, digging my nails into the palms of my hands and creating half moon indentations in the skin. This couldn't be happening. Not now.

"You okay? You look a bit pale," Namjoon asked, scanning my face. Knowing the boy's insane IQ, he'd probably already figured out that I was hiding some sort of secret. Luckily for me, Namjoon wasn't the type for confrontations and didn't say a word.

"I'm fine," I said, coughing when my words got a bit muddled. "You should get some more sleep. We've still got a good distance to travel."

Namjoon nodded obediently and leaned back into his seat, nestling his head against the headrest and closing his eyes. It didn't take long for him to doze off, a loud snore escaping from his lips. That poor boy had gone through a serious beating and some more sleep would do a world of good.

"Thanks for helping me back there," I said to Yoongi, breaking the silence. Even though the boy was a pain in my ass, he could be really useful at times.

Yoongi rolled his eyes. "I didn't do it for you."

That made me pause for a second and a question escaped my throat before I could stop it. "Why did you save me considering it was only a couple of days ago when you tried to kill me?"

Yoongi spluttered. "When on earth did I try to kill you?"

"During hide and seek." I'd been unsettled for a long time after that game; he'd really scared me.

"Trust me, if I wanted you dead, you would be. That was a little bit of fun." He laughed obnoxiously and I couldn't help but scowl, my eyebrows knitted together.

"Fun! You nearly burnt me alive."

"Well I didn't."

I scoffed. "I just don't understand why you hate me so much."

"I don't hate you." He paused for a second, stroking that dog again. "Don't get me wrong, I don't like you but, I don't hate you."

"You've not made that very clear." The boy had had it out for me since I'd arrived, that much was certain.

"Look, you'd know if I hated you. I hate the people in charge of the orphanage I grew up in, I hate the bullies who tormented me for years and, most importantly, I hate everyone in that godforsaken laboratory."

"Including me?"

"You're different."

I paused for a second, thinking about the hidden meaning behind his sentence. By the time I decided to gain the courage and ask him what that actually meant, he had turned away from me with his face against the glass, eyes closed. I knew it was pointless asking; he wouldn't answer anyway. Min Yoongi would always be a mystery to me.
