One Shots - Capt. Maya Bishop and Dr. Carina DeLuca

So this one doesn't follow the storyline of the show. I used events that happened and put this one together.  I did this on my phone, to see how it would look, I usually post from my laptop. Hope it's okay

It was an accidental slip the first time it happened, okay maybe not an accident, she just didn't think it would catch on or that Maya would actually go with it. It was really something that Vic only said in her head when she was teasing Maya about Carina. Everyone on the team knows Maya; she's stubborn, extremely focus and ambitious as hell. One thing though, Maya has always been there for them when they needed her, she messed up, definitely but when they needed someone, she was there. She is fierce in the way she loves her team. When she became the Captain though, that's when things became hard, the team was broken and while they rest of the team were still with each other, Maya wasn't part of their circle anymore. They gave her a hard time and made her feel it. She wasn't one of them anymore.

She met Carina at Joe's after a failed camping trip and after getting to know the Doctor, all Maya wanted to do was tell her two best friends. She's never felt like this. She's never been this happy from video calls with the doctor to sex lunches at the apartment and she can't call Vic and Andy to gush about her doctor. The team has seen her with Carina at Joe's and never thought to ask her to join them nor did they come over while she was with Carina. They have seen Carina at the Station dropping food or coffee for Maya but didn't bother to ask her about it. They've seen Carina at Grey-Sloan and only interacted with her when they were dropping off a patient that was pregnant. Maya knows they know who she is but they never directly asked her. Then Andy's dad died.

Again the dynamic of the team changed. He died for all of them. He sacrificed himself for the family he built for his daughter. He sacrificed himself and they came to realise the importance not of what they do but what they stand for. Yes they are firefighters, they head into danger when others run the other way, but they save lives and they depend on one another to survive.

Vic knocks on her door and waits "come in" Maya says not expecting Vic to come in. She's used to standing when she works, she looks at Vic "what can I" Maya starts

"I miss you" Vic interrupts her and Maya looks at her blinking back tears "I know we haven't been the easiest to be around and we've made your job crappy since you took over, but I miss you. When I got here, you and Andy took me under your wing and while you were harder to get to know. I know you now and I miss you. I'm sorry Maya. You were there with Ripley and that was a difficult time for me. You never questioned, you never judged, you were just there and I miss you. You and Andy annoy me sometimes but I need you" Maya doesn't let her finish, she comes around her desk and throws her arms around Vic "we're supposed to annoy you. It's our job. You are not just a firefighter, you are not just my family, you are my sister just like Andy is my sister. You're more annoying and alot more sarcastic. I am sorry too, Vic. I should have apologised sooner, I didn't know how to and I was so scared. I would have waited forever for you" Maya says

"You're leaking on my shirt, what the" she pulls aways from Maya to see tears in her eyes "is this the hot pregnant lady doctor because you don't cry" Vic says

"The what!" Maya asks

"You know, the hot lady doctor that has been hanging around here, bringing you food, coffee and drinks at Joe's. We see her and I see you, Maya Bishop. You're whipped. I said lady doctor and you're so red right now" Vic teases

"It's Carina and no it's not her. I mean she's my girlfriend yes but"

"She's your what!" Vic says loudly "keep your voice down" Maya says rolling her eyes
