Telling Everyone - Part 2

A/N: For the sake of this story, let's pretend that Sullivan isn't the d£&! he portrays in the show. He and Andy are married and Maya loves her friend so she's okay with their relationship.
Also, let's continue pretend that Emmett was one of the recruits from the Academy when Maya went as a guest speaker. She knows his father is douchebag Dixon (that's what I call him), Emmett doesn't have a great relationship with him so Maya kinda took him under her wing since she knows all about difficult fathers. In the story, Emmett really does want to be a firefighter. English translations are in Italics.

--------------------------------------------------------------There's a knock on Maya's door and it opens. When she looks up she sees Andy walking in and she sits down "hey Cap, what's up"

Maya breathes out a sigh of frustration "I need a favour"

"Sure. Anything"

"I have a video conferencing call in like 3 hours and it's urgent. It was pushed forward. I need you to take over the if we get called out. Sullivan isn't back yet or he would have taken the call, can you please ask him to come back sooner, I hate politics. I know you and Vic were supposed to cook tonight, but I'll sort out the food when you're all back. I'll have Jack take over the next one" Maya says

"Okay that's fine. We can talk to Jack" they leave Maya's office and walk into the beanery as the team is joking around and talking

"Hey guys, listen up. I have something urgent come up that I need to prepare for. Herrera is in charge of the next call out. Gibson will take the one afterward. Emmett, you're out with them for the rest of the shift. Pay attention to Herrera and Gibson's instructions. I will get someone else to cover the front desk. Hughes, I will cover food when you guys get back. Any questions"

"No Cap" everyone says

"Right. Everyone make sure everything is ready for the next call. Gibson and Herrera with me" and they follow her back to her office

"So you and Andy can decide how you want to do it. You can both switch call outs or Andy can take the rest of the shift and you can take a shift next time I have an urgent matter come up. If Sullivan keeps going away like this, I'm going to die" Gibson and Herrera laugh

"I'm fine with Andy taking the rest of the shift and when you have your next meeting I'll do the rest of that shift. By the way are you cooking because I'd rather just order take out for when we come back" Jack asks as Andy laughs

"I'm cooking. I'll be fine" the sound of Maya's phone ringing interrupts the rest of the conversation. She looks at her phone to see it's Carina and she looks at Andy and Jack "I have to get this but Andy you're in charge for the rest of the shift. Just let everyone know" they nod and leave her office. She waits until they close the door "hi" she says to the caller

"Bambina are you busy" Carina asks

"No baby. I was just talking to Jack and Andy about the rest of the shift. You're still coming right" she asks

"Yes, I know it's short notice but Amelia, Teddy and Maggie found out that we're telling your team tonight and now they want to come along. I asked about the kids but it's too late for them to be out on a school night"

"Carina, it's okay. The team will love having them here. I got all the stuff you wanted for the pasta and I brought your pasta from home and not the stuff from the boxes" Maya teases

"Maya, I want to make a good impression. I'm not giving them store bought pasta"

"You don't need to impress anyone baby. You're beautiful, you're brilliant and you're all mine" the alarms sounds to indicate that her team is being called to a scene "baby, give me a minute". Maya runs out to see her team run to the trucks and leave.
