As soon as I heard the Saint of Light’s name, it felt like
someone had grabbed me by the heart.

   “Huh? Mi-Mika…?” I asked back.

The Saint smiled and laughed. “Yes, it’s Michaela or Mika, for
   short.”

What she just said was the default name for the Saint of Light.

   “A-Aah… I see…” I said.

   … I was too hasty.

Honestly, I thought that Mika had come here, too.

The Saint of Light’s… well, in Mika’s story, there was
absolutely no chance that she was that Mika.

“Fuh-fuh-fuh, that’s right,” Mika said. “By the way, Marshall,
why do you look so anxious?”

   “Oh, no, it’s nothing…” I said.

“Huh, but it looks like you’ve broken into a cold sweat, hasn’t
it?” Mika asked. “Maybe you need me to use my healing magic on
every fiber of your body after all…”

“That’s not a reason for you to reach out to me with your
fingers wiggling!” I cried. “We’ve just become friends,
shouldn’t you be much more polite and reserved?!”

“You don’t have to hate it so much, it was just a joke,” Mika
   said.

“You say that, but I don’t think that smile reaches your eyes?”
   I asked.

“Ufufufufu, it’s all in your mind,” Mika said.

… Was it the right decision to become friends with Mika?

“Marshall, you look like you’re regretting something, are you
okay?” Mika asked. “Did you want to start as lovers instead of
friends, after all?! I wish we could, you know!!”

“Ah, no, I felt like I made a mistake, but I’m not going to go
back on being your friend…” I said.

“Understood!” Mika said. “The Saint Of Light Is Willing To Go
On The Friendship Route If Her Beloved General Wants To!”

“Thank you for convincing me with a line like a web novel’s
   title…” I muttered.

“It’s nothing,” Mika said with a bashful smile.

… Even if I knew she was someone else, seeing that, I couldn’t
   help but remember that Mika.

“Marshall?” Mika asked. “Is there something on my face?”

   “Oh, no, nothing,” I said.

“Then, why were you staring at me so sadly?” Mika asked.

No matter how much her worried expression reminds me of her,
this is not that Mika before me.

Still, it seems unlikely that I’ll be able to keep things going
   without confirming it.

“… What you said before, do you remember what happened before
you came to this world, Michaela?” I asked.

“Yes!” Mika said. “I remember it pretty well, I think?”

“Then, can you tell me what your name was in your previous
   world?” I asked.

If Michaela’s previous name was Mika Nonoyama, the person she
was talking about should be me, Saki Hamura. This is because
Mika has always told me she liked the Marshall of Darkness and
that she was looking forward to me cosplaying her.
