I have been falling
unknown depths
while carrying burdens
of yesterday's theft

I have been climbing
past my insecurities
learning more about myself
than I ever did briefly

I have been tired of living
so much that I wanted to forget
to start over just to get
rid of these feelings

Sometimes, I wish to have
been a child forever
just so I could taste
joy without worry
contentment without baggage
and peace without guilt
all over again
