Chapter Nine

Storm woke up to the beeps of the machines and knew instantly what had happened as last night memories hit her like a tonne of bricks. She went to move her hand but there was a tight grip of it, she looked over and saw Tig sleeping in the chair beside her. Storm groaned as she moved, realising she had a chest drain in her just as the door opened and in walked Doctor Noelle Green. "Morning Storm, how are you feeling?" Noelle asked just as Tig snapped awake. "Better, when can I get out of here?" Storm asked straight away. "We're going to have to keep you overnight as that chest drain is staying in for at least another twenty four hours but your lung is looking better." Noelle told them. "I tested your liver last night and I have some good news. The test showed that its completely healed so we're taking you off the medication all together which means you can drink again as long as its in moderation." Noelle told Storm. "Thanks Doc." Tig said as she walked out.

"You scared me." Tig told her before he leant over and kissed her forehead. "Sorry Dad. Where are Cash and Nell?" Storm asked making Tig laugh as he shook his head and sat back down. "They are at the clubhouse. Happy was looking after them." Tig told Storm, just as the door opened again. Tig and Storm both looked up to see Gemma. "Hey baby, how are you feeling?" Gemma asked. "Better, thanks Gemma." Storm answered. "The club is waiting down the hall." Gemma directed at Tig who nodded and then looked back at Storm. "Go, deal with whatever you need to. I'll be fine." Storm reassured him. "I'll be here." Gemma reassured. "Alright baby. I'll leave Half Sack here too." Tig said squeezing her hand before walking over to Gem. "Thanks Gem." Tig said before making him way out of the room.

Tig walked out of the hospital room and down the hall, rubbing his face, until he got to where the club was waiting. "How's our girl doing?" Clay asked. "She's a lot better, more worried about the dogs than herself. Gem's with her. I want Half Sack with them." Tig told them. "Alright. Prospect stay here." Clay ordered as the prospect nodded and retreated back down the hall. "Right, lets go see the Irish. Tig you'll be in the van with Juice." Clay said as they made their way out of the hospital.

Tig walked to the passenger side of the van and got in as Juice was driving, they pulled out of the hospital parking lot and began driving towards their meeting. "Juice, I want you to pull everything you can about Storm's time in prison including the attack on her." Tig's voice stern, leaving no room for discussion. "Alright. Is she up for visitors?" Juice asked. "Yeah, might help keep her in the hospital. She's already itching to get out." Tig answered as Juice nodded.

"Seriously, I mean I've heard about it but never met someone considering it." Storm said in all seriousness as Half Sack told her about his plans to get a replacement ball. "It will give me a sense of balance." Half Sack defended. "Fair enough. How's the training going?" Storm asked steering the conversation away from his testicles. "Good but I think I'm still dropping my arm at times." Half Sack answered. "Just don't overthink it." Storm answered thankful for the distraction that Half Sack provided since Tig and Gemma had left hours ago.

Juice walked through the hospital, it was late but he thought he'd relieve the prospect knowing Gemma had gone home with Clay. He'd bought his laptop to search for the records Tig asked him to get in regards to Storm. He walked into the room to see Half Sack sitting next to the bed looking through some trashy mag he'd got from the waiting room and noticed Storm was asleep but she looked a lot better than last night. "Everything alright?" Juice asked Half Sack quietly as he stood up. "Yeah, she only fall asleep twenty or so minutes ago." Half Sack told Juice who nodded. "You should head back. I'll stay with her." Juice told the prospect who nodded before walking out of the room. Juice took the seat the prospect had been sitting in and pulled out his laptop, continuing the search.

Juice begins reading the details of the attack, learning the truth, that it was five on one and then he found the photos that were detailed in the file. Juice closed his laptop just as Storm opened her eyes and smiled at him. "Hey." Storm said quietly, her voice sleepy. "Hi." Juice smiled. "You ok?" Juice asked cautiously. "Yeah, I just want to get out of here." Storm answered. "Tig is staying with Cash and Nell tonight, so you are stuck with me." Juice told her as she nodded and took a sip of water. "Come lay next to me." Storm said softly, her eyes fluttering closed, as she shifted over to the edge so Juice could get on even though she barely took up any of the bed. "Alright." Juice said as he gently sat up next to her, as she cuddled up to his side. Juice sat with her as she went back to sleep but his mind raced as the photos and words from the file went through his head...
