Chapter Twenty Four

Storm sat in an empty diner in the middle of the night, a steaming cup of coffee in front of her as she listens to the heavy rain and wind lash outside. She sits shielding her face from the prying eyes of the waitress as she wraps the hoodie she's wearing tighter around her body as tears fall down her face silently. She sits thinking about what got her here...

"What do you want Dad?" Storm asked as she walked into the clubhouse after being summoned by Tig. "Need to talk to you." Tig told her. "I figured." Storm quipped annoyed at being summoned after not speaking to each other since she left the club while it was on lockdown. "You need to reign yourself in especially after your little argument with Gemma." Tig told her. "I don't need to reign anything in Dad. I've been staying away from everyone and the club, keeping my head down but somehow I keep getting pulled into this shit." Storm told him fiercely. "So what, you get out of jail and all of a sudden you're against me and this club, the family who helped raise you?" Tig asked angrily. "Do you hear yourself? You're unbelievable." Storm said as Tig backhanded her, his rings cutting into her cheek and lip as the club quickly separated them. Storm pulled out of Chibs' grasp and walked out of the clubhouse in shock.

Storm wipes at her face, being careful of the butterfly bandages and bruising, she hears the bell on the diner door ring before listening to the heavy footsteps making her way towards her. Storm waited until he was sitting opposite her before looking up at him. "Jesus Christ Storm. What happened?" Kozik asked softly as he reached out, touching her face softly. "It doesn't matter but you're the only one I can trust right now. I'm not going back to Charming and I'm only stopping here in Tacoma to see you." Storm told him as he took her hand in his. "Does this have to do with the transfer papers you got?" Kozik asked clearly concerned. "I needed to get out of Charming and now I have." Storm answered.

"What do you want me to do Storm?" Kozik asked. "Nothing...there's nothing you can do or need to do." Storm told Kozik. "Where are you going to go Storm?" Kozik asked. "I'm not sure yet but I promise to tell you as long as no one else finds out." Storm told him. "I won't say anything Storm as long as you are safe. And I'm only ever a phone call away if you need me." Kozik told her truly meaning it. Storm put some cash down on the table and stood up as Kozik did too. Kozik hugged her tightly which she reciprocated. "I promise I'll call you." Storm whispered before she let go of him and walked out of the diner into the rain to her car, seeing the dogs still asleep in the back seat.

Kozik sat back down watching as she ran to her car through the rain, and driving away. He sits wondering what the hell happened to her face and why she's running but he also knows she wouldn't be if it wasn't serious. Kozik stood up, brushing his hand through his hair before walking out, making his way to his own truck, getting in and driving away from the diner.

Tig sat at the bar downing a bottle of bourbon which he had repeated ever since Storm had walked out of the clubhouse yesterday after their argument, the guilt eating at him for hitting her. Tig stood up, stumbling along, deciding that he needed to see her, to apologise. "I need to see her." Tig said as Chibs stopped him from staggering any further. "Seeing her drunk isn't going to help either of you." Chibs reasoned. "I just need to know if she's ok." Tig stated. "I'll go and check on her but you need to go and get some sleep." Chibs offered. "Fine." Tig finally agreed as he made his way through the hall to his dorm room. "Prospect make sure he stays and sleeps." Chibs told Half Sack who nodded furiously as Chibs walked out to his bike in the dark.

Chibs pulled up at the house, parking behind her truck, noticing the house was pitch black. He walked up to the door, knocking loudly and waiting to no answer. He bent down and lifted the mat, looking for a spare key but couldn't find it, he quickly stood up and checked the dorm jamb. Chibs walked away, getting back on his bike and heading for the hospital.

Chibs walked into the ER and saw her supervisor at the desk. "Can I help you?" She asked. "Ay...I was looking for Storm Trager." Chibs asked. "Oh...I'm sorry she is not working tonight." Rachel answered. "Oh, thanks anyway." Chibs answered before he turned around and walked back out, heading back to the clubhouse.
