Today I'm taking Clover on a picnic date. Ever since we met, she's talked about wanting to watch the sunset from the beach at a picnic. I've taken note of that since before I told her about my feelings and today's the day her dream comes true.
My mom and I arrived at the beach to set up everything. I was really hoping that I could make it all perfect and I think I achieved that.
Clover and her mom showed up around 5 o'clock. She was wearing what she normally wears—a T-shirt and jeans—but for some reason, she looked so much better than normal. I mean, she looks gorgeous all the time, but this was different.
"Oh my gosh! It's so cute!" Vera shrieked, rushing over. I gave my mom a look to go away and she chuckled, raising her hands in defeat.
She engulfed me in a hug and then stared in awe at the array of food. "I also got you a gift." She swiftly looked at me. "What? You should've told me. I would've gotten you something. Mason!" She playfully hit my arm. "Ow." I chuckled.

When the sun began to set, Clover took out her phone and took a gazillion pictures. "You've truly made this day incredible, Mason. Thank you." She smiled at me and pecked my lips.
"I mean, you're the best person I've ever known. You make every moment so special and every day with you just gets better and better. So thank you, Mason."
"I could say the same and more for you, Vera. I can't even believe someone as incredible as you exists in this world." We smiled at each and she laid her head on my shoulder as we continued to watch the sunset.
