i step into the
shower
and soak myself
completely
completely wet
am i now
my hands
reach for soap
then rinse
and then more
soap
i stand with the
bottom of my feet
huddled
around the drain
then i stop
and close my eyes
before inching backward
under the
shower head
my fingers plug my
ears and i
listen to the sudden gush
of hot water
a muffled
waterfall gallops 'round
and 'round
but all i see is
black
my
naked body
is tarped
in sequences that speak
the language of
nothing and everything
i am a free
ripple in today's
current
that
of which has been
