you say my name out loud
so that I can hear it;
the tangy strips of syllables
dangle from your tongue;
it sounded sweet, but felt
pungent on my lips;
you think me to be the dirt
on your mat, your bed sheets, your foolish carpet;
I am anything to you;
I am everything you want me to be to you;
the fruits of my labor were
eroded because I am but a thing to you;
here I stay sequestered inside our chasm of fire
grieving my own loss;

what more can the scarlet
dungeon prince want?

I refuse to remain your—
you adulterating beast, you said
my name again;
how dare you;
don't sit there and thrust
your shame upon me;
you took away my family, you obliterated
my home and chopped my beautiful, long hair;
I massage my buttery skin and wish for a
thousand stakes to go into your heart;
but now that you've said
my name again, you should know
what comes next;
you are not mine and I am
not yours;
I'll let you get close one more time
only for you to hear this,

you weren't so careful.
