"Let's begin," Adi said taking the reports from my hand, "Any tricks you intend on playing?" he asked as he casually ran through the pages.

"I have no reason to play any tricks," I said offended.

"If you say so," Adi commented and lifted his eyes up to look at me.

"So you are telling me Sruthi and Pallavi are not spies?" he asked with a serious expression.

"Of course, they are not Adi," I immediately replied, "We both know that!"

"Conclusions need to come from interrogation, not from existing prejudices," Adi stated as a matter of fact.

He is right.....that is explicitly stated in the protocols.....

"Well..." I hesitated, "We did interrogate...them...."

"For just 2 hours," Adi completed. "Really?" he asked sounding disappointed, "The usual process is supossed to take around 2 weeks and should involve repeated interrogations and data collection." "You are telling me somehow the general managed to do all of this in 2 hours?" he asked looking staring into my soul.

Why is his look so intimidating?

"I...mean..." I hesitated, "...actually we..."

"Relax sweetheart," he smiled as he put the report away, "That's a question for the general to answer not you."

Oh, the chameleon changed colors again!

For once, it turned out in my favor.

"Speaking of the general," he said leaning forward casually, "Did he teach you any tricks?"

"He asked me to not speak of anything that is unreleated to the investigation," I replied still remaining cautious to not fall for his tricks.

"Really?" Adi asked sounding surprised, "So you are not going to answer even simple questions like why it took you so long to get ready this morning?"

"I am very sure that is not related to the investigation, officer," I said firmly.

"It's related to my heart though," Adi said placing his hand over his chest, "Every morning I play the game of guessing what color lehenga you are going to wear. Today I had to leave for court without even getting a chance to see if I won."

"Now you got the chance," I replied. "Did you win?" I asked out of curiosity.

"No," Adi shook his head, "I lost. My guess was purple."

"Really?" I said surprised. "I actually wanted to purple today but I couldn't find it....which is why it took me soo long to..." I paused as the sudden realization struck my mind.

I looked back at Adi whose expression quickly went from cute to intimidating.

The chameleon played me.

"No tricks, huh?" he asked.

I shouldn't let him intimidate him.

"I could be wearing purple for the love of it," I immediately replied.
