The rest of the day was relatively normal for Lily, except there were a few odd bits here and there. For example, James wasn't being an arrogant toerag, as she so kindly called him, nor was Sirius. The Black boy wasn't necessarily being nice, but he wasn't being a giant bully- like the years before- either. The redhead wanted to know more about what had finally made Sirius run away but she knew it was none of her business, so she stuck to herself.

Though, her friends could see the curiosity was eating away at her.

In Transfiguration, a class the boys were surprisingly good at, James didn't try to flirt with her or ask her on a date, he just asked her how her day was, gave her a modest compliment, and then went to the other three. Instead of liking it though, as he had probably hoped, Lily found it odd that he had completely changed over the course of the summer.

Yes, he was being sweeter, but it was only the first day back. It could easily be some sort of prank the Marauders came up with.

So, she decidedly ignored them and instead spoke with Alice when she could and the other students in her classes.

Whilst Lily was in school, Eve was still at the odd oak tree. She flew around it, staring at the runes at writing them down on a piece of parchment she had found in the library of her tree home. She drew the runes down with her fingers so they burned into the page. Some of them repeated themselves and others were all entirely their own.

The runes slowly burned into the page as Eve traced her hand over the parchment. It took her a long while, and by the time she had flown over the entire tree, copying every rune from every nook and cranny from the tree, the sun was near setting.

When she looked at the sky and saw the sun starting to disappear behind the mountains she quickly flew back to her home and grabbed the scary stories she was told as a young Fae and placed the parchment inside it with a not on top. Once everything was secure, she left her house and flew to Hogwarts.

She flew through the branches of the Whomping Willow and quickly made her way towards the windows of Gryffindor Tower. Eve looked around the windows of the tower and looked for the mark. She passed window after window until she found it.

Out of the corner of her eye she spotted the small star in the upper corner of one of the windows. She sped over to it and opened the latch. The Faery quickly enlarged the book and parchments and placed it on the sill.

Then she closed and latched the window behind her before flying away.

The first day of school was long and tiresome for the sixth years, especially with all the warnings about N.E.W.T.s and the bundles and bundles of homework they received from each of their teachers. She and her dorm mates trudged up the stairs to their dorms and plopped down exhausted onto their beds.

Just as Lily was about to pass out, she spotted the large leather bound book sitting on the sill besides her bed. A bright smile made its way onto her face, and she was suddenly refreshed. She grabbed the large book of the sill, and placed it on her lap. Excitedly, she opened the book cover and was met with a note and a parchment beneath.

"Dear Flower,
As promised, her is the book filled with the horrifying tales I was told as a child. Also- as you have probably noticed- there is another piece of parchment beneath this one. I would greatly appreciate it if you could get those runes translated for me by you Ancient Runes professor.

Sincerely,
Eve."
