Mariah and Logan arrived at the party to see everyone was already there so when the two stepped in, the crowd of people started to cheer. There were drinks immediately handed to them and JJ somehow appeared from nowhere and led them to what seemed to be their table as everyone was standing around waiting.
At first Mariah greeted everyone and was introduced to everyone she didn't already know. When Mariah met Sarah, she couldn't help but compliment her outfit. Sarah did the same and the two started chatting. Sarah told Mariah she loved her movies, and Mariah told Sarah she loved her covers.
Cal saw the two talking and went over, "tryna steal my girlfriend eh?" He joked and Mariah grinned.
"Yeah I might be since I'm finally meeting her." She said and Sarah chuckled. Simon hadn't gotten the chance to talk to Mariah since she arrived since he had been talking to Tobi when she came in. He saw Cal, Sarah, and Mariah talking and decided to walk over.
"Yo Mariah! Tobi was blocking my view so I didn't see you come in." He said and gave her a little side hug which she returned.
"Hey Simon, and it's alright." Mariah looked him up and down and saw he wore a white shirt with a blazer and she couldn't help but find him hot. Her cheeks warmed up slightly as she turned her attention back to Cal and Sarah. The two were giving Mariah a strange look then they looked at each other.
"Sarah do you wanna get some food?" Cal said and Mariah's brow furrowed in confusion. Sarah looked at Mariah and then Simon and nodded.
"Yeah why don't we?" Sarah said and gave me a wave as Cal led her away.
"You clean up nicely." Mariah said gesturing to the blazer. Simon looked down and blushed slightly.
"Oh well yeah I figured you might be worth a blazer." It sounded like teasing but Simon meant it, usually getting him out of sweats was a miracle of it's own but a blazer was a Hail Mary.
"Well thank you. Simon can I ask you something?" He looked at her trying to figure out her expression as she surveyed the room. Simon nodded and she bit her lip slightly before talking.
"How many of these girls do you actually know?" Simon scoffed then and laughed, he laughed for a long while, leaving Mariah even more confused.
"Not many. We literally just asked Sarah to call whoever she may loosely know." Mariah didn't particularly hate the girls she just hated the fact that Simon knew so many clearly beautiful women. She laughed despite the burning feeling spreading throughout her body.
"That's good." Simon was just about to ask what she meant by that when JJ approached. Mariah had barely spoken to him this entire afternoon so she was happy to see him.
"You having fun?" JJ asked while ruffling her hair eliciting a glare from Mariah.
"Yeah I am, thanks so much for this both of you. I'm gonna miss you idiots."
"Aww come here, group hug." JJ said and before either of them could object they were pushed up against each other. Eventually the embraced JJ knowing he wouldn't release them until they did.

The night was coming to end and Mariah stayed back until the only people left were the sidemen, Freya, Emily, Logan, and herself. Mariah had grown close with Freya and Emily after finally meeting them and the three all got along well. She knew she would grow closer with them when they met up again.
Mariah knew this would be the last time she'd see any of them, except Logan of course, for a long time. Vikk and Harry then Freya and Josh were first to leave then Ethan, Tobi, and Emily. They had all hugged her tightly and Tobi even refused to let go once Mariah struggled for air.
Logan told Mariah he'd wait in the car since he knew JJ and Simon would be the longest goodbyes. She pulled the JJ in for a hug and he looked like he was about to cry.
"Don't forget about me again alright?" JJ nodded and kissed her forehead like a saint before giving her and Simon some space.
"You lot are acting like I'm going away to die don't look too sad." She said referring to Simon and JJ's expressions. Simon cracked a smile then and rolled his eyes at her dark humor.
Simon opened his arms again, and Mariah obliged. Her head rested against his chest as she slowly inhaled and exhaled, his chin rested on her head and his eyes fluttered closed as he tried to etch the moment into his memory. Mariah didn't like the fact tears were close to pricking her eyes so she pulled back before the fell. She did so slowly and while doing so she pressed a small kiss to Simon's cheek. Mariah straightened and gave him a weak smile, one he returned. Simon could feel her lips still on him, as the spot was on fire from the contact.
Mariah didn't say anything as she left his hold and headed out the door of the hall. How was he supposed to think about anything but her for the two dreadfully long weeks?
