You're Mine

Chapter 28

After we had finished eating pizza at the pizza place, we then began to drive to the Arcade. We didn't drive altogether, but we met up there.

"Hey, Hunter play me in guitar hero." Jason said walking over to me with Maria by his side.

I get the feeling he's just trying to show off to Maria that he's better at the game than me.

"Okay, alright." I replied and went over to a machine to get some tokens to play as did he.

Once we got the tokens, I put the guitar strap around my neck and held the guitar. I looked over at Maria who was standing beside Jason.

"I forgot to say this, but happy birthday Maria." I said before looking back at the game and choosing my character and mode.

"Thank you," Maria replied, but I didn't bother looking at her to see if she smiled.

We both went on expert mode, and we played the song, 'No More Sorrow by Linkin' Park'

Honestly, I thought I was gonna lose, but nope guess not! I won. I'm not letting this guy show off in front of Maria easily.

"Good job guys!" Maria said happily as we both looked over to see her smiling.

"Thanks cutie," Jason replied with a small smirk.

He was smirking because he knew I'd be bothered by that nickname, but they're dating. I should be used to it, maybe not now but soon.

"Well, Hunter. Nice playing GH with you, but I think it's time to start spending time with my girl." Jason said hanging the guitar and walking over to Maria with an arm wrapped around her shoulder. "We'll see you later," Jason added before walking away with her.

"He just loves pissing me off, doesn't he?" I asked myself before sighing.

"Hunter~!" I heard a familiar voice calling from behind me, it was Karina.

"Ah, Karina. What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Isn't it obvious? I was invited. I missed the pizza though, sadly.. so I just ate at home and came here." she replied with a smile.

"Okay.. but who invi--" I was cut off by Quinn interrupting what I was saying.

"Kari! It's so nice of you to make it to Maria's birthday celebration!" Quinn said cheerfully.

"It was no problem at all, thank you for letting me go," she replied just as cheerful. "Where is Maria anyway? I want to greet her." she added.

Quinn looked around. "She's over there playing Terminator with her boyfriend." she replied.

"Oh okay, thank you!" Kari replied walking over to Maria, leaving both Quinn and I.

Quinn looked at the couple, then me.

"Having a good day?" she asked with a smile.

In the end, I just ended up playing video games with Cole and Jack while the 'couple' stayed together and Quinn hung out with Karina.

"Be right back, I'm gonna use the bathroom." I said before walking around the WHOLE Arcade trying to look for the bathroom.

All of a sudden, I felt someone slightly push me and yelling out, "Boo!" before doing so.

"Nice try Kar--" I paused and looked back to notice it was Maria. "Oh, Maria." I said.

"Mhm! Hi Hunter!" Maria said cheerfully walking beside me.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be with Jason?" I asked.

"I had to use the bathroom and Jason was playing a video game and I didn't want to bother him, so I just left without saying a word." she replied with a smile.

"How about you? Why aren't you with Karina?" she asked looking at me. "Don't you miss her?"

"Pft, me missing her was a long time ago. This is now, and I needed to use the bathroom as well." I replied. "Why do you ask?"

"Quinn's told me, about you missing Kari when you first moved out here." she replied.

"Well, Quinn was my very first friend girl at school when I first moved." I replied.

"That's kinda funny, you were my first guy friend when I first moved here, though I didn't think of you as one at first." she replied followed by a soft chuckle. "At first you weren't exactly pleasant to be around."

I chuckled at her next sentence, "Yeah, sorry about that. I was acting like a jerk," I replied.

"No need to apologize really," she replied. "I'm actually glad you tried talking to me still after that, you're not such a jerk like before." she laughed.

"Hey, I really can't help the words that come out of my mouth." I chuckled.

"Oh really? And saying you weren't thinking when you say something is something that can't be helped?" she asked.

"Exactly," I replied. "Just like you calling me a 'f-ckboy~' can't be helped." I added.

"Actually, that could've been helped, I just thought you were a f-ckboy because you seemed like you would be." she replied with a playful smile.

"How did it seem like I was?" I asked as she looked at me with a raised eyebrow. "Okay, I get the point. Me taking it back because I said you were-- yeah," I replied.

"Basically, but you turned out to be a pretty good person." Maria replied.

"Anddd a really close friend of yours," I replied.

"Yes, that too." she replied followed by a small smile as I returned the smile.

QUINN'S POV:

"Quinn, can I ask you something?" Kari asked as I looked back at her.

"Sure, what is it?" I asked.

"Do you by any chance know.. the history between Maria and Hunter?" she asked.

"Well, he was the first person to talk to her when she first moved here." I replied. "Why?"

"Because, over there." she replied pointing at two people walking together. Not just any two people, Maria and Hunter.

"When.. I came here for Hunter, he said he doesn't like me like that anymore." she spoke softly. "Is it because someone else holds his interest now?" she asked.

"I'm not gonna lie, but the answer is yes." I replied looking at her, than the two.

"Is that someone that holds his interest now, Maria?" Karina asked, I could hear the tone in her voice changing from sad to anger.
