•Chapter Eighteen•
Violet Eyes
(Central Park)

The rest of the day had been uneventful. After Bucky finally got over the fact that I hugged him, I returned to Alrekr. Natasha basically called quits with Tove's training because even though she truly wanted to learn, she—according to Natasha—'looked on the verge of tears the entire time.'

Natasha promised that they could try again later but Tove just wanted to sleep.

Everyone retired early that night after a short dinner, shawarma again, courtesy of Tony Stark.

The next morning, I decided that I wanted to take Alrekr and Tove to Central Park. I dressed in dark grey skinny jeans and a Shinedown tee-shirt, seeing that it was October I wasn't going to have that many warm days left so I was going to take advantage of it. I slipped on my converse and stepped out into the hallway, Käro on my tail.

"What's your plan, pup?" He mused as we walked. I shrugged, turning into the kitchen. It was relatively late seeing as my alarm clock had said 9:30 when I first left my room. Tony was in the kitchen, re-hiding what looked like a new box of Poptarts and Clint was passed out on the couch. I really didn't want to know.

I turned back to Käro, "I'm going to ask to go and then I'm waking Alrekr and Tove up."

"Go where?"

I looked at Tony and attempted my best innocent smile. "Central Park?"

"With Alrekr and Tove?"

"And Käro of course."

Tony frowned, "Asgardian wolf in downtown Manhattan? Who's going to go with you three? Natasha and Capsicle are out today and I doubt Bucky would be the best idea."

"Clint? Or you."

"Not today kiddo," Clint suddenly added from his place on the couch, "sorry but this nap I'm taking is too nice to take advantage of."

I narrowed my eyes at him, "have you even gotten up since you went to bed last night? It's not a nap if you haven't."

"No, and I don't care."

I rolled my eyes as Käro chuckled. I focused back on Tony. He instantly held his hands up.

"I'm not the one. Can't take you kid, according to the last conversation I had with your father, I am, and I quote, "mentally unstable, impulsive, and not qualified to make decisions pertaining to Lorien."" Tony droned and he tilted his head, "in other words, convince Legolas that you'll be alright alone and I won't have to be responsible."

I had Alerkr and Tove up out of bed within the next twenty minutes. I didn't take long to convince Clint and besides I doubted on the small chance that anything would happen, Käro and us couldn't take care of it.

Käro could be pretty scary when he wanted to.

Tove had decided, when I told her my plans, that she wanted to stay behind today. She explained that yesterday's training session had wiped her of most of her willpower to tolerate being around that many people. I was disappointed that she didn't want to go, but I understood why she didn't. I told her that we'd go again some other time.
