Chapter 19
Pearl's POV

As we swam along the surface of the rough waves, the world felt pure again.
Pale was going to solve a large conflict today and we just saved a kingdom from lost tourists.
When we approached the dock, we broke to the surface.
"Okay," Pale said. "Are you sure you can trust your friend?"
I rolled my eyes. "Of course I can."
"Okay," Pale said. "Tell him to bring a vial, a nail clipper, a bottle of water and some clothes."
I cocked my head. "Why clothes?"
"Because, I could turn into a human naked, and no one wants that."
"Okay."
So I sung the siren song directly to James. I told him to bring all the ingredients.
About halfway through the song I heard his voice. "Pearl! Is that you?" He asked.
He began to walk down the dock and I stopped singing.
He jogged down to the end of the dock carrying the things in his hands.
"Yeah it's me," I called out. "And I brought a friend."
"Cool," he said as he walked down to the edge of the dock.
He dropped the things. A pink crop top, a white spaghetti strap tank top, jean shorts, a small vial, a cup of tap water and a nail clipper.
He kneeled down so I was almost eye level with him.
"So Pearl, why don't you introduce me to your friend," James said.
"This is Pale," I said. "And she's the princess of the sea."
"Wait...I know you somewhere...I know a girl named Pale," James said.
"And what's your name again?" Pale asked.
"James Majori," James replied.
"I know you!" Pale yelled.
"Your Paleren Atlanta!" James said.
"Yeah," Pale said.
"wow, I didn't know you were a princess," James said. "Um...do I have to bow or something?"
Pale shook her head. "No."
"Good."
Pale frowned a bit. Princess problems.
"So why did you need all this stuff?" James asked.
"I've gone missing and there are fliers everywhere. I need these items to get on land just to sort things out," Pale said.
"Okay," James said. "Likes Pisces did."
I nodded.
I knew James already knew what to do.
He clipped a toe nail into the vial followed by three drops of tap water.
Pale put in three drops of salt water into the vial and spit into it.
"Okay now walk to the end of dock and turn around and close your eyes," Pale said sternly.
"Why do I need to do all of that stuff?" James complained.
"Because I'm the queen, you do what I say," Pale said murderously.
"Um, correction, your the princess and I'm not in mermaid world right now Princess Pale, so I don't want orders from you."
"It's nude problems," I said. "She's very self conscious."
James sighed. "Okay." He grumbled as he trudged to the beginning of the dock.
"Okay," Pale said as she heaved herself onto the dock. "Here goes nothing."
She clutched the vial in one hand and the clothes in another.
She lifted the vial to her mouth and drank it.
I let out a long irritating "ewwww."
"Ah," Pale let out when she finished drinking it.
"Did it work?" I asked.
"I don't know," Pale said.
Then, as if right on cue, her tail starting wiggling and becoming a more tan color and it began to split into two.
Soon she was laying there, with her clothes on, with two tan legs.
"Yeah! It worked!" Pale screamed.
"Can I look now?" James called from the end of the dock.
"You can walk away now," Pale said.
I slapped her in the leg. "Ow," she said.
"Whatever," James said as he walked away from the dock.
"You know how to walk right?" I said.
I hope she could, I can't help her.
"Yeah," Pale replied.
She shakily stood up. She walked around, almost as good a someone who has been walking around her whole life.
