Sebastian Micheal Reece will be the death of me.

Family dinner went much better than expected and it was a step in the right direction for me. For starters, it got me out of the house which was needed, but it also got me to interact with people other than Logan and Hudson.

However, the following day was filled with chaos. I left the room to make myself something for breakfast only to find Garrett hooking up with a random girl against the counter. I quickly lost my appetite and went back upstairs. The rest of the day was also a disaster but that's a story for another time.

The real nightmare started when my good ole future hubby decided to wake me up in the middle of the night.

The night of my heat.

I had managed to sleep through most of it because in all honesty I passed out from the pain. Sadly i was disturbed with the bedroom door swinging open. Logan ran into the room with an emergency in another pack, but the main issue was the shouting which woke me up.

"Logan I don't care that another pack is being attacked."

"Get these sheets off of me." I feel my body sticking to the soft fabrics as I try and kick my legs from underneath them. "Please get them off."

"Bash they're under attack from rogues." Logan repeats himself and I throw a pillow at him.

"Get out." I scream before gripping onto the side of the bed from the pain.

"Who are they attacking?!" Bash asks as he places a hand on my thigh while attempting to pull me close.

"They're attacking Harris."

"I swear to goddess this is the worst day of my life! If childbirth is anything like this I'm not having any kids!"

"Wait what?" I look up once I process the words that Logan spoke. "My brother? Is he okay?"

"I can't do anything about them attacking can I? I have a bit of a problem." Sebastian grabs onto my arm and pulls me from my side of the bed to his.

"Make sure they're okay and if they need help get it to them." He growls lowly before sinking his face into the crook of my neck. With that Logan leaves the room and I push Bash away.

"Don't mark me right now." I whisper to Bash as his hands travel down to my waist.

"I'll wait till you're ready but this is starting to go on for too long. Your wolf isn't going to be able to take the stress of heat for too much longer."

"I don't think it's fair to have you mark me and not sleep with you to finish the process."

"It's not about me Jenifer. It's about you and your wolf and I'm worried because you haven't shifted since you got here. You've gone through heat multiple times already. When did you last shift?"

"I don't remember." I whisper as I try to recall the last experience, but the sad truth is that I don't know. I stopped shifting after what happened to me. I was too fearful of everything.

"Do you still feel your wolf?" He asks in an equally hushed tone.

"It's not the same. I know what I am, but I don't feel like a wolf. I feel more of a human than Garrett. The only reason I know I still have a wolf is because of my heat and the feelings I have when I'm around you." I keep my volume low as my body settles into his more and more. "I don't want you to worry about me." I add before tilting my head to the side and giving him access to my neck.

"If you know you'll be able to control your wolf enough to not complete the process than you can mark me."

Before I could even process that I was okay with what was going to happen he had his lips on mine. It wasn't some sloppy love drunk kiss, but it wasn't our day to day kisses either. It felt right and that's all the security I needed.

"I love you."

"You don't need to say it." He whispers back and I shake my head in defeat. "You don't." He repeats.

"I didn't think I had to. I said it because it came out before I could stop myself."

"I love you that's why I said it." I add before reaching up to his hair and pressing my chest firm against his.

"Can you please mark me already. I'm in too much pain."

"If I mark you, your wolf might take over after being suppressed for so long."

"I'm gonna pass out if you don't do something."

The room starts to feel colder and colder as my eyes get heavier but I still don't feel anything but a burning.

"If you say so."
