"Lúthien." A voice whispered

She could feel the weight of her own body holding her down, she didn't have the strength to get up. So she lay there in her soft, warm bed.

"Lúthien." The voice repeated

She shifted in bed, not wanting to acknowledge the voice. All she could possibly think of was sinking further into the mattress and into a deeper sleep.

"Lúthien." It said more sternly

She finally opened her eyes to find Thranduil laying there beside her. He smiled, and it caused an aching in her chest.

"Thranduil.." she breathed

"Come back to me." He said softly

Lúthien didn't understand. She was right there with him. He reached out a hand and caressed the side of her face, his thumb brushing away a tear.

"I don't understand."

"Come back to me."

"Come back to me Lúthien." Thranduil spoke

Lúthien finally awakened from her feverish dream to find Thranduil actually kneeling beside her. His palm on her forehead, confirming that she indeed had a fever.

Once she realized that he was real and present, she spoke to him.

"What are you doing in here?" She asked coldly, looking away from him

"I saw them bring you through the gates, all bloody and impaled with arrows."

She glared at him, "That's not what I asked." Her eyes said

"I couldn't just let you bleed to death."

"You fool, should've just let me die." She whispered

"I've come to help you."

"Well I don't need your fucking help, you've caused me enough pain as it is."

"Forgive me-"

"Shut the hell up, I don't want your forgiveness King."

"What do you know about me? My past?" he asked

"Nothing." She replied, scooting away from him. The discomfort in her body causing her to hiss.

"Then what was all that talk about knowing me?"

Lúthien stared him down where he now stood. She contemplated on telling him the truth, to convince him of the life they shared together. He had no idea how badly she wanted him to remember, it pained her to know that he had it all wiped away. Which was why she said,

"It was a lie."

"What?"

"You never knew me and I never knew you. I only said it to save my own skin." She pushed

"I'm sorry that cannot be true, why else would Onna-"

"It doesn't matter King." There was venom in her words and she kept on striking

"I'm just some poor girl your queen decided to abuse."

It hurt too much to give him the truth. It all would make the situation a whole lot worse. She couldn't bare it.
