joohyun and junmyeon notices each other at an event after a rough year filled with dating scandals, members leaving, and backlash. 

    It was the end of the year and Junmyeon was tired physically and mentally. This whole year has been rough for the group and the fact that another member is in the talks of leaving stresses him out even more.

Scandals came one after another. Rumors were formed one after another. Members left one after another. How much more can the group actually handle?

To add on to that, Junmyeon was extremely worried about his group mates. They have had many discussions on the recent events but none of the ease that was felt, really lasted.

At least during award shows they can relax and enjoy the other artists' performances. This year's Gayo Dajun was exciting. Junmyeon and the group couldn't help but sing along to their dongsaeng's debut song. While Jongdae and Baekhyun were actively dancing, a familiar face caught Junmyeon's attention.

Maybe because it was the end of the year or maybe because of the overwhelming amount of stress, Junmyeon's brain was suddenly filled with the memories and encounters he and Joohyun had when they were trainees.

She was beautiful. She always had been. Everybody in the company knew that. And when she danced against that one Winner member, Junmyeon couldn't help but feel a slight nudge come from the inside.

Thoughts like that were not good to have. Junmyeon knew better than to do that especially with Baekyun's experience this year. Junmyeon had to be extra careful and make sure he protected his group mates.

Joohyun's opinions on how the year went was not so different from Junmyeon. The group didn't have scandals like their senior group but that didn't stop the excessive amount of hate to form.

The company had rushed the debut of the group in hopes to relieve the backlash formed from the other events that had occurred recently. Many of the senior groups had so much dating scandals and members leaving in such a short time period that the chaos within the company formed.

But because the company debuted the group early, fans felt that the other groups were being neglected. This added more fuel to the hate Joohyun and the group received.

Joohyun was definitely worried for her group. There were times that they would come to her and  break down. Joohyun knew that she had to stay strong for her members but there were times that she also wondered if all this was worth it.

As weird as it was to say as a hoobae, Joohyun was proud of EXO. They got three awards this evening and their performance was spectacular. They really proved the haters wrong and sang live while dancing to such an intense song.

Joohyun reminisced about the times when everyone was still a trainee, supporting one another until they debuted. She missed the days when she and Junmyeon would eat instant ramen late at night. She was proud of him for staying strong as a leader even with all the commotion from this year.

With all the performances over, the night ended with a brief amount of eye contact between the two leaders.
