16. Closer than you think

Sarah calls and asks me to meet somewhere, now that I'm back, I tell her it will be best if we meet in my house, and she will bring my brother alone. I had miss him so much.
I invite Ray to come with us but he says he prefers to stay to finish some work.
I drive home and open the door with the keys and find my brother in the living room and Sarah is coming out of the bathroom.
-Hey guys, I missed you- I say
-We missed you,too..... Did you found out anything about D?- Sarah asks
-Can you stop speaking on codes?- Nick asks
-It's the girl code- Sarah says
Nick goes answer the door after hearing a knock. He comes back with a lot of red roses.
-It's for you from.... Daniel- Nick says frowning trying to remember who he is
-That's really creepy- Sarah says
-Why?... One of you it's going to tell me what's going on- Nick says
-No- Sarah and I say at the same time
-Okay look he is someone I knew from high school but I don't remember- I say
-Okay but why is he sending you flowers does he knows you have a boyfriend?- Nick asks me
-No but still these are not for courtesy- I say
-What do you mean?- Nick asks still confused
-Just leave it there, let's talk about your new apartment, do you like it?- I ask
-Yeah it's pretty great- Nick says
-Do I throw the flowers away?- Sarah asks
-Yeah as far from me as you can- I say
-It wasn't Daniel your boyfriend- Nick says
-Not that's Derek- I say
-Well just forget about it... Who wants pizza?- Sarah asks
She orders pizza while Nick and I find something worth to see in the TV.
An hour later a knock at the door makes stand up from my seat. I open the door to find Oliver, Dig and Roy standing in front of me. Thanks God Laurel didn't come with them, I thought.
-Guys what are you doing here ?- I ask
-Sarah invites us for pizza, I hope you don't mind- Oliver says
-Not at all, come in- I say
-I mind- Nick says which I didn't notice he was behind me
- Nick just watch the TV- I say
-Fine but you sit away from my sister- Nick says
-Guys just come in I'll promise to keep the wild beast down- Sarah says and the guys walk in
-Are you calling me a beast and I'm a beautiful person- I say
-Only I think that- I say
Sarah and Nick are standing in front of the door waiting for the pizza that will come in 2 minutes. Roy and Dig are already seated on the couch while Oliver and I walk toward them.
-Is everything okay with the company?- Oliver asks to hide what he really wanted to ask
-Everything is okay with Ray- I say
-Right, you're still together- Oliver says
-I thought that was what you wanted- I said
He just looks around me but not looking at my eyes and without saying a word.
-Daniel sent me flowers - I say
-He sent you flowers?- Oliver asks
-Yeah just few hours ago, I still don't remember anything... Well there is something I haven't tell you about my past... I- I was cut off by my brother who has the pizza on his hands coming toward the living room
Nick sent Oliver to the other side of the living room, far away from me. Nick seats in the couch and Sarah put her legs on his lap. And the way Sarah looks at him is the same way I look at Oliver and the way I will never look at Ray.
