7 | i've seen stars in the sky

Look up, see that dusk has descended
Stand back and watch as the night slowly ascended
My love, I kept hoping to find you so
I am waiting for us, maybe away, we can go
How does one stay so long without love, I don't know
Because when I'm not with you, I am losing my soul
Oh, what blunder does love give to me
It takes away my freedom and even my sanity
All for you, love; it's all for and about you
The way I lay down everything, it's to give you a clue
Because as I look up to the dimming dome up high
I thought to myself, saying—I've seen stars in the sky

My love, if this is what you want me to do
Then fine, I will do it to prove my love true
Don't underestimate the things I'd do for you
I know that love is sacrifice, love is my cue
And even though I'm already full of it all
I'll smile, because in loving you, I will not stall
Because we are small, imperfect people finding peace
Still trying, even though the world is chaos, amidst
But my love, suddenly, with you, I feel white as snow
Feeling that the love you're giving me is all I need to know
As I look up, seeing twilight rise and dusk die
I look up and mutter—I've seen stars in the sky

If this is love, then I want more of it
The way your lips curl while your laughter is lit
Then again, what would the stroke of luck be
To find you here, of all people, why me?
Heavens bless us, find our anchor in eternity
Aren't we for forever, mind giving us clarity?
Love, I wish I could tell you more of this
But even in one prose, I would fill up the list
About the things I love most about you, I'd write
Even those I hate and I accepted despite
But as twilight faded and midnight begins to lie
All of us dissipate with me saying—I've seen stars in the sky

And after midnight comes the dawn rising anew
Where sunlight reigns and the sky is mesmerizingly blue
My love, with new mornings come new hope alight
In dreams darkness perish for us to rise strong and bright
This love—the love we kept going until forever
This should be our song, our reason to stay together
Oh, what mercy does the heavens have to offer?
Here I am, buried knee-deep in its gutter
I am blessed beyond with a love like yours
Even in darkness, I found you beyond lores
And when night comes again, there's one thing I can't deny
That even in darkness, I've seen stars in the sky

Hope should be this easy when trials run cold
As love goes, it comes deep and bold
How, then, could we keep it against the absolute chill
When fights break loose and fear keeps us still
What should we do now that love has broken our will
You know what? I think I'll just gaze beyond the sill
Ans I saw that revelation running deep
Even amidst dangers, it's you I'm falling for so steep
When I try to run, I find myself going back
Because in you, I find all that I lack
And as I gaze up above at the sky beyond my view
My love, I've seen stars in the sky, but none of them as bright as you

This went into five stanzas because I forgot to integrate the final line I wanted to put into the fourth stanza. Lol. This is originally just a sample cover I made while playing around with Wattpad's cover maker app way, way back. And then, I kinda thought, what if I make this into a cheesy poem?

So now you have this poem.

Just proves that not everything I write is sad. Lol.
