To a young heart, these are the words I'll say
Pen in paper, heart in head, I lay
All the terms on falling in love, please hear
So that heartbreak and pain will not be your fear
Because in love, there are uncharted territories
There are bonds broken, limits explored, changed priorities
You'll experience ecstasy, sadness, pain, and pride
All at the same time, you'll remember every stride
Because in love, you'll forget everything you stand for
Every value, moral, honor—you'll throw on the floor
Love will destroy you, whether you like it or not
So darling, don't dare fall in love or anything but

Good or bad, it's your love—so decide
If you will give it away or let it reside
On someone undeserving—it's a choice
And when things get hard, don't lose your voice
Because in love, you'll get silenced for the things you do
You'll discard comfort so he'll love you
Loving someone is pain, all throughout the process
Some efforts are judged, some are thrown over the fence
Because in love, there will be paths crossed
Pieces of your life will fall apart—broken and lost
Love will tear you to shreds, believe me
So don't dare fall in love if you want to keep your sanity

To a wild, reckless heart out there in the woods
Don't let your heart wander too far from your roots
Before it's too late, bring everything you love back home
Despite everything, it's best to stay where you're alone
Because although love is jubilee, love is also the reaper of contempt
When you love, your heart is open to judgment—assumptions exempt
The raging wildfire of bitterness and anger
Years and years of abandonment pile up, appease your master
Because in love, there are dangers traversed in search
For satisfaction, for worry to let go of its perch
Love will beat you senseless inside the cage you built yourself
So my dear, don't dare fall in love only to have nothing left

Better or worse, it's your life, so live it well
Don't give in to sweet words and flowers, pray tell
Be watchful of your surroundings, be sure you're able to walk out
It's better if you are in peace than drowning in your own doubt
Because love is sacrifice—everything you do is on loan
So be ready to face debt, favors, even losing your throne
Love is a journey—a commitment you have to live through
It's an undying promise and if unkept, will forever haunt you
Because love is scary and requires all your understanding
Every definition, every scenario, every little thing
Love is a trap—a prison where you'll never be free
So, darling, don't dare fall in love until you are ready

Better or worse, it's your life, so live it wellDon't give in to sweet words and flowers, pray tellBe watchful of your surroundings, be sure you're able to walk outIt's better if you are in peace than drowning in your own doubtBecause love is sacr...

It's officially two years old back on November 29. This poem is a reflection of how I view love back then. I remember writing this while being bored in my Highschool classroom. So yeah.

How about you? What can you say about this poem? Comment below. :)
