Two dark eyes reflect back to me
Wind blew outside, too fast to see
Love has come to an end now that problems are here
Do you know why? Do you know, my dear?
We are love birds people say to be dreams come true
We were supposed to be forever, wasn't that the due?
I look at you, searching for an answer you won't give
You look at me, reaching for the reason why I want to leave
Do you reckon we fight for it?
Do you still wish to salvage something unfit?
Because I do, I know enough to be relieved
So tell me something, darling—anything, I'll believe

The world is a cruel place for love to dwell
How fast time flies, how fast it has gone this swell
Too long, we've been searching for each other
Too soon, how love faded altogether
We looked at each other, each waiting to speak
But why, why do we find it hard to seek?
Love is bliss but life is a monster
Understanding is best when there's surrender
We did all they tell us to do
But somehow we ended up falling from the blue
Do you know why? Because I reason I couldn't conceive
So tell me something, darling—anything, I'll believe

It's heaven, it's pain, now that we know where it ends
It's hell, it's bitter, how sacrifice always bends
We are two souls held together by destiny
But now it seems like I'm dropped from its legacy
Do you remember how we met? How we touched?
It was bittersweet not that the time has hatched
Do you still believe in me, in us?
Do you plan to keep the promises we discussed?
You hurt me, I hurt you—it's the cycle
We hurt each other, like reaping with a sickle
Do you know why? Why do we fight without reprieve?
So tell me something, darling—anything, I'll believe

Here we are, at the crossroads with no choices
Here I am, facing north, hearing no voices
Keep searching, keep asking, let's fight for this
But should we? Should we save what mattered the least?
If it's us who soiled destiny's plans
If it's us who ended things with just one dance
Why do we even bother to have it from the start?
Do you wish to rip eye to eye, shards of heart?
Have you loved me from the beginning?
Have you seen what love is worth sharing?
Because, my darling, I really do not want to leave
So please tell me something—anything, I'll believe

Here we are, at the crossroads with no choicesHere I am, facing north, hearing no voicesKeep searching, keep asking, let's fight for thisBut should we? Should we save what mattered the least? If it's us who soiled destiny's plansIf it's us who ende...

How we are willing to stay blind to certain truths just to keep what we have constant. This poem is written because I was bored when I was observing a class for my field study. I got what I wanted from the class and I'm just waiting for it to end. I got bored. So I wrote the poem on a page off of my field study journal.

Then I forgot about it.

I found it again when I was compiling all my poems in my poem notebook and boy, did it hurt me. It still hurts until now and let me be honest—I don't know where I got the inspiration from. I haven't experienced this before but somehow, it still hurts me. ;-;

How about you? What do you think of this poem? Comment below. :)
