Narrator's pov

"Bye Ember" he smiled, heading off towards the car that awaited at the gates of the park

There she stood, cold air weeped in where the warm embrace of her father was

She watched as he walked away with a smile on his lips and a little hop to his feet, it was adorable how much joy he had in his life yet he married a woman who was a blackhole for love, just sucking it all up

Yet there she was again, standing alone with her thoughts. A loop she seemed to fall in too much

What was she going to do about this situation now. Was it even possible that she could lead the board of directors, become the new face of the hospital

It'll stress her out more than anything she had ever done in her life

And that girl memorized all the goddamned algebra formulas since she was six

Did she want it? A part of her really did, despite her mumbling and groaning about it, she really did want to be apart of the business

If only forgiving and letting go was so easy

"I can't find you"

A voice filled the area of the park, a voice she was all so accustomed to. A voice that she had written in her mind so that she would never forget the soft and gentle tone

"But I can't fault you, cause I. Can get so caught up in my own head"

Ember squeezed her eyes shut as she felt something shot up her veins. The girl's voice was like antidote to the poison of the world's harshness

"You just float through, I can't catch you
And I can understand, but can't face the feeling. That I'm just another end"

She hesitated to turn around, afraid she might lose herself in the golden eyes of the blonde

"So when you coming home?"

She hadn't seen the girl in a while, she was out of mind and out of sight, yet she never left Ember's mind

"I could be what you need girl, if you want me to"

Cold air filled Ember's lungs as she inhaled deeply, squeezing her fingers into her palm

"You know what they say, girl. That love gon' come back to you"

The sweet music filled her ears and controlled her body like it was her property

"But I can float too, and I don't ask for much from you, But maybe that's too much, too soon"

Ember slowly turned to face the girl that held her heart in her hands

"So I, keep rolling through the blackout
No fires without some fallout
Made peace out of the pieces
Now I can't take it back now, no
But I keep on track now up
Yeah, that's all of it. I gave up my youth for this 'cause I wanted it, and
If you think that I need you then you're out of your head"

When green eyes met her own, Ember's whole world slowed down. Perfect golden hair rested right above her shoulders and the sun graced her skin, turning marble green eyes into a bright yellow that could swallow galaxies. Her perfect skin that looked so fragile yet so soft, cheeks the colour of pink roses

A small waist hidden under a red ribbed top and curvy hips that fit so perfectly in her dark washed blue jeans. This was the girl, the girl that Ember knew would change the way she looked at life. And so she did
