The Promise

Instructions

**Beth**

While the announcement was going on , everyone and everywhere was quiet .
Once it was over , everyone went  "Ooo" like if they were five years old. 
Alex looked at us and said "What did you guys do ?".
"We did nothing ". We all said at the same time .

"Well , you guys better go . And Beth , can we talk about my situation later ? " .
"There is nothing to talk about ". I said as I walked away from him with Cathy and Ally. 
"Beth ". He said as he called my name .
I said "Not listening ".

We went to the principal 's office and Mrs . Carson , our principal told us to sit down .
Once we sat down , Mrs Carson put our minds to rest when she said "Your not in trouble . I just need a favor ".
We all looked at each other and Cathy and Ally were okay with it .

I said "What is the favor ?".
"Come with me ".
We followed Mrs . Carson to the assembly hall .
Once we got there , we were asked to stay by the stairs of the stage .
Cathy got really nervous and asked  "Guys what if we are really in trouble but Mrs . Carson doesn't want us to think that ?".   

"Stop thinking negative thoughts ".
"Beth , Cathy and Ally , please come up ".
We stepped onto the stage and saw the whole school watching us. 
"I have called this meeting because I need to ask the whole school to do me and the staff a huge favor ".

"I need the whole school to listen to Beth , Cathy and Ally ".
"And for you three , I need you run the school for a week ".
Our eyes nearly fell out their sockets when we heard what our principal told us to do .
The whole school  went in shock as well and started saying things like "What ! ".
"No fair ". "No way I am going to listen to them ".

"Listen , listen ". Mrs . Carson said as she was trying to get the school to be quiet. 
"Me and the staff were unnotified about this but we have to go to a workshop that lasts a week and I can't find  substitutes for all your classes at such short notice ".

"So they will be the substitutes for all our classes  ? ".
"Yes . Ms . Dans ".
"They are good students and I trust them that they would do a good job because if they don't they will fail ". She said as she watched as strictly.
We just smiled back nervously .

"But all of us have different classes ".
"Yes , I know that Mr . Whiteman . Which is why I have narrowed it down to all of your classes that all  of you take ".
"But what about the lower school ?". We both asked at the same time. 

"Thank god that all of lower school has a retreat to go to . Which leaves you guys and seniors . I don't trust the seniors to do their work on there own because they tend to get wild ".
I know that us and seniors sounds like small classes but that was still a lot .

"Beth is going to be the person in charge of everything ".
I was surprised when I heard that . 
"She will take a roll call of everyone that is suppose to attend school . If you however do not come to school for the next week , you will not only have detention for awhile you will also fail your classes ".

This was a lot to take in .
"Anymore questions ?". Mrs . Carson asked the whole school and us .
All of us didn't ask anything and then she said "Well , I trust you guys and also , please behave . Don't give them a hard time ".
And with that , she left .
We just stood there watching whole school .

She came back in and said "Ohh , lower school , you can leave ".
When they left , we still stood there watching half of the school now .
"Uhh , okay ". I said and all three of us went into a corner and spoke .

"Wow , a lot to take in ". Cathy said. 
"Yeah ". Me and Ally said in pressure in our voices .
"So , we would be shifting the work load each day ". I suggested .
Mrs . Carson came in and said "Ohh and I know that no one would have told you guys  about keeping a box in front the class and letting them putting their phones in it until class is done ".

"Okay ". We all said .
"And also you don't have to do work today . You can get to know their names ".
And then she left .
