The Promise

Will He Get Hurt ?

You may be wondering what the promise is .
Welll-
"Ohh yeah , about that ..."
He said in an awkward tone .
Then his phone buzzed . He picked up his phone to see that Anna was calling him .
"B-
I just walked out of his room to give him privacy .

When I got to my room , I took a bath and put on my comfy clothes .
When I came out of the bathroom , Alex was sitting on my bed.
"Hey ," I said.
"About the other promise -
He said but I cut him off and said ," Its okay that was long time ago ".
"And it was kind of fulfilled ," He said .
"Alex , you have a girlfriend ," I said .

"Beth," He said as he put his hands on my waist .
I stepped back and said ," I think I like Jake ," He said .
"Oh," He said and walked out my door .
"Alex ! " I said .
He didn't respond to me .
"Ughh," I said as I flopped on my bed .
Then I felt two people flop on me as well .

"Hey ," Cathy and Ally said .
"Hi guys ," I said as they climbed off of me and sat on the bed and I sat upright in my bed as well  .
"What you two been up to ?" I asked .
"Nothing much . What about you ?" Cathy asked .
"Yeah . What happened to Alex ?" Ally asked .
I explained everything that has happened so far and their responses were "Wow " and "We missed a lot " .

"Yep ," I said .
"So do you really like Jake ? " Cathy asked .
" I don't know . What he did was really sweet ," I said blushing while I remembered the amazing night I had .
" Aw , she's blushing ," Ally said teasing me .
"Stop,"I said burying my face in a pillow .

They both laughed . Then they told me about things that happened to them which were that Ally and Evan are now dating and things with Cathy and her boyfriend are going good .
We talked for awhile then we decided to bake .
When we came downstairs , Alex was eating .

"Hey Alex ," Cathy and Ally said.
"Hi ," He said .
"What you up to ?" They asked .
"Nothing ," He said .
"Are you still sad ?" Ally asked .
"Ally !" Cathy said.
"Its okay . I kind of still am but I'll get over it ," He said looking at me .
"Well , stop feeling sad here and come bake with us ," Cath said .

"No , no . The last time I did that I was the item you were decorating ," He said .
They both started to laugh . "Come on Alex , please ," They begged him .
He gave in and said ," Alright , I will do it ".
"Yay," They said and we all got out everything to bake .

When we were done baking , the cookies we made were ready .
When we finished eating the cookies , Cathy and Ally had to go home .
Me and Alex were laying opposite each other on the same couch , talking about stuff .
Then randomly we started talking about the promise we made .

"Beth , the promise we made -
"Alex , you have a girlfriend ," I said .
"But -
"Alex , dont ," I said getting a bit sad and angry .
"Beth , I want to -
"But I don't want to ," I said avoiding looking straight at his face .
He lifted my chin with his finger .

My parents saved me when they walked in and said ," Hi sweetie ".
"Hi mom ," I said and Alex pulled away from me .
"What you guys doing ?" My father asked .
"Nothing just talking ," Alex said .
"Okay ," His mother said but still not convinced .

Our parents all went upstairs . I got up but Alex made me to sit on his lap .
"Alex ! " I said but not so loud that our parents would hear us .
"Can we try to fulfill it ?" He asked .
I got off of him and said ," No " and went up the stairs to my room .
I climbed into my bed and grabbed my phone and saw I got a message .

It was from Jake .
J-Hey , was wondering if you wanted to hangout with me tomorrow .
B-I would love that .
J-Great . I will pick you up at 1 ?
B-Yeah . I  look forward to it .
J- Me too .

A huge smile appeared on my face after that.
"What's with the big smile ?" My mother asked scaring me in the process because I didn't know she was there .
"Don't lie to me ," My mother said.
"Jake and I are going to hangout  again ," I said .

"Okay , seems like you two would make a great couple . Just don't hurt Alex in the process ," My mother said and closed the door .
My smile faded away from my face once my mother said Alex's name .
