Rebound

When I washing the dishes , Alex put his plate in the sink and sat on top of the counter .
I tried to ignore him starting at me .
He started to make noises with anything that his feet or hands can touch. 

The noises irritated me and that was when I cracked. 
"Can you stop doing that ".  I said as I  put away the last plate. 
"Nope ". He said acting like a baby .
I walked up to my room and he followed me .
He closed the door behind him and I said "I don't want to argue with you right now ".

"Me either . I just want to talk ". He said as he sat on my bed .
I took a book off of my shelf and laid on the bed .
"Well I don't want to talk about anything right now ". I said. 
"Please ". He begged .
"No Alex ". I said. 

I didn't know he came out of the bed side he was in and came near me and took the book from me. 
"Alex ". I said as I got up .
"We need to talk ". He said. 
"No ". I said trying to grab my book .
"Please ". He begged again .
"No Alex . Your just going to c....
I said trailing off of my sentence .

"I'll do what ? ". He asked .
"Nothing ". I said as I tried to reach the book from his hand that was at the back .
"Tell me ". He said getting cocky and walking towards me .
"No ". I said .
He kept making me go backwards till my back hit the book shelf .

"Tell me ". He said again .
I didn't want to tell him but I had to for him to leave me alone.
"Fine . All your just going to do is confess your feelings for me ". I said. 
He didn't say anything and just left but while doing so he put my book on my desk. 

He didn't slam the door in anger . It was hard to read what was his emotion .
I was curious as to why he wasn't mad. 
I went downstairs to his room and asked "Why are you not mad ?".
"Many reasons ". He said as he laid on his bed .
I went to where he was on the bed and took the chair from his desk and sat next to him. 

He sat up in his bed and watched me .
"You never give up that easily ". I said .
"Well maybe I just got tried of chasing you ". He said.
"Ohh ". I said kind of sad. 
"Are you done now ?". He asked.
"No ". I said.
"Continue then ". He said.
I was at lost with words . How can he not be mad .

I still haven't said anything and Alex said "Beth ".
"Wait ". I said still trying to figure out why he wasn't mad.
Then I remembered that Alex and Anna broke up .
Am I his rebound for his broken heart ?

"Am I your rebound for your broken heart ?". I asked.
He scoffed and then said "No ".
"Alex!". I said.
"You're not ". He said.
"Then why did you kiss me ?  ". I asked not so confident .
He could always tell whenever I am not confident about something and that made him mad. 

He closed his hand really tightly which made it to turn white.
He was trying not to be angry at me ,  but he couldn't .
"Must there be a reason ". He said half trying to be calm .
"Yes". I said unsure .
He calmed down and said "I have never said this but I really like you . When I came back and I frist saw you again , I fell in love with you again ".

He said that while watching into my eyes.
"Why now ?". I asked.
He didn't say anything .
"Because I am your rebound ". I said and I was about to get up when he pulled me back down .
"You are not ". He said .
"Alex ! ". I exclaimed.
He didn't say anything and then that  was when I knew I was.

"I knew it !  I am your rebound ". I said and walked out of Alex 's room .
I went up to my room and sat on my bed thinking .
There were so many thoughts in my head I couldn't concrete on one thing so I decided to sleep .
Hopefully when I woke up I wouldn't have so much thoughts in my head. 

But while I was almost asleep , Alex came into my room and I guess he saw me sleeping .
He came closer to me and whispered into my ear "I am sorry Beth . I see how stressed you are about this so I am going to stop until I maybe see you feel the same way about me ".

He kissed my forehead and before he left he admitted this "And I was also jealous ".
When the door made a shut sound , I opened my eyes and a huge smile came on my face.
