aidan

he sits at the desk in his room, looking at the math problem he's been stuck at for the past half hour. his lips still tingle from everett's kisses. his hands are still warm from holding everett's, and his heart still pulls at his chest. maybe he doesn't swing for anyone but everett, and aidan is completely content with that.

"how was your day?" his mother leans against the door frame, arms crossed. "you seem... off."

he gets up to talk to her fully, giving her an awkward smile. "it was good."

"but...?"

"but nothing," he squeezes her shoulder. "i'm good, mom."
