three years ago when he started to hate himself because he realized that he wasn't like everybody else.

three years ago when he believed that it wasn't right to feel that way.

two years ago when he tried to ignore his sexuality and think of himself as heterosexual.

one year ago when he was so close to slipping away.

one year ago when he had tried to make the pain stop.

and then he held on a little longer, and what had life given him?

a boyfriend.

but also a mother that might not accept him.
