the phone drops to the floor. he tries everything to help everett. the empty bottle of antidepressants sits on the floor, and he clutches everett to his chest.

he needs the other boy to be safe. to be okay. he needs his everett. he doesn't know cpr, has never dealt with anything like this, so he tries to slap the other boy's cheeks, tries some mouth-to-mouth, which he fails at.

the emergency rescue team and paramedics pull them apart, and everett is gone in the blink of an eye.
