Chapter 13. The Deadline

Hey Jarvis." - Talking

'I wish I had Jarvis.' - Thinking

"All systems up and running." - Jarvis, Phone call, Robot making noise.

"Hello there." - Person with heavy accent speaking.

Iron Man. - Time, POV, A/N, Location

Izuku Midoriya's POV- The Day before The Museum Opening

"I am inserting it on three. Okay?" David says to me as he prepares to fully insert the Arc Reactor. Currently, I have no shirt on while laying on a super cold metal table. "This isn't the best experience so far not going to lie." I say to David.

He chuckles slightly before putting on a serious face. "Okay. You got this!" David says and I smile. "Thanks man." I say and he looks down at me with a straight face and then says. "I'm talking to myself."

"Wait what?" I ask and he ignores me. "Three!" He shouts out and painfully takes out the electromagnetic battery before carefully inserting everything needed for the Arc Reactor. Five minutes later and he finally finishes with me.

"You good kid?" He asks as I sit up and give him a look. "That hurt..." I say and he laughs. "Yeah but you were definitely going to chicken out." He says and I give him another glare. He helps me off the table and throws a shirt at me, which I quickly catch and put on.

"So.. what now?" He asks. I give him a smile and open my mouth to answer, but I get interrupted by the big metal door trapping us in the room getting banged on as a symbol to show that people are about enter the room. "Damn." I mutter as the villains come in.

"My inventors!" The bald tattooed man says cheerfully. "My captor!" I say as I see him and in response a few guns get pointed at me. The man chuckles and symbols the men to put their guns down, which they do. "How is my weapon coming along child?" He asks and I put on my best poker face to answer.

"It's going alright. It should be done in three or four days." I say and he frowns. "No no, I want  it by tomorrow." He says and I give him a funny look, 'He does realize if I was actually building it then it would not be even close to functioning?' I think to myself before nodding. 

"I will pick up the pace then." I say and he smiles. "You are not so bad, boy." He says and prepares to leave the room but sees my chest glowing. "And what is this?" He asks as he walks up to me. "A... more effective battery one could say." I answer and he nods. "If it helps you preform better than it is fine with me." He tells me before walking out of the room with his men. 

The door closes and locks and I sigh. "Dang, we really have to rush on building the suit then." I say and David nods. "Then we should get to work then." He responds with and I grin at him. 

I put on a tank top and start to work on the suit. I start on the helmet. Making sure it would be perfect, I couldn't afford to make any mistakes on this. The sound of metal being hit by the hammer blocked out all noise in the room. After making all the adjustments on it and forging it and carry over to where David is working and drop it on his workstation with a thud.

"Now what hell have you been working on?" I say to him while wiping sweat out of my eyes. He laughs and pulls out two flamethrowers, two guns, and some kind of boots. "Show off..." I grumble as I walk away and he laughs again.

Ten Hours Later - Izuku's POV

"That took a while." I say as I lay against the cold, hard rock wall. David slightly chuckles but I can tell something is off. "Hey... what's wrong?" I ask and he tenses up. "You know you can talk to me." I tell him.

He sighs and asks me a question I wasn't prepared for. "Do you have a family Midoriya?" This time I am the one who tenses up. "I mean, I guess I do. But my Mom is very distant, and my Dad and Grandparents who I was super close with all passed away." I say and he nods. "I understand. You see I have a daughter." He tells me.

"Melissa. I last saw her when she was seven. That is when I was taken by these men. She is your age now." He says. "Hell, I don't even know if she is still alive. I'm pretty sure these men killed her.." He sadly tells me.

"Oh she isn't." I bluntly say and he looks up at me. "I'm sorry?" He asks me. "Yeah, she is actually working to rebuild everything you started. She is always getting interviews in Science magazines." I tell him. 

A few tears form at David's eyes but he quickly wipes them away "Man I can't wait to get out of this hellhole." I say and David nods in agreement. "Ya' know you and Melissa sound like you can be a good match by what you told me about her." David says suddenly and I perk up.

"That is, if you didn't have such a giant ego." He says and I jokingly punch him in the arm while we both laugh. "Can you promise me something?" I ask him seriously and he looks up at me.

"Promise me you won't do anything crazy tomorrow. Okay? Don't be the hero if the situation gets bad, get out of there while I fight them off." I tell him and he hesitates but nods. A silence falls upon us and I glance at the completed, bulky suit. 'I will get out of here.' I think to myself as I fall asleep.
