When I was called to go fight a war that was destroying the school that had been my home for seven years, I hadn't imagined that my sister and her husband would end up not making it out of the battle, but even least expected had been the fact that they left their new-born triplets in my care if anything was to happen to them, so I was stuck taking care of the three kids, who were now almost one year old.

I was living alone in an apartment with the three kids because my mother had disowned my sister for marrying a muggle-born and consequently she couldn't care less about the kids, and so, when I decided I would be keeping the kids and do my best to take care of them, it was no surprise that she had kicked me out as well.
The only one of us she had ever truly loved had been my younger brother, Zacharias, because he pretended to as judgemental as she was and as full of hatred as our mother, but that didn't mean my brother was a bad person.
When around our nephews, Zach was actually the sweetest guy and the kids loved him, but our mother just couldn't see that.

For nothing but some kind of miracle, all the kids were asleep, and I had taken the time to clean up a bit, even though I knew that it was only a matter of hours until the apartment was chaotic again. I was softly humming to a song I had heard somewhere, when I noticed the manuscript for my new book laying on the dining table.
With the triplets running around I had almost no time to write, but I was decided that today, while they were asleep, I would write something. Salazar knows I needed to.
I heard a knock on my door, and I hurried to open it before the noise woke the kids up.
I opened the door, figuring it would be my brother, but was pleasantly surprised to find Draco Malfoy at my doorstep instead.

When we had attended Hogwarts, Draco had been on the year below me, but we had gotten along very well, and our friendship had continued even after we left Hogwarts.
Draco was another mystery.
Most people deemed him as cold and calculating, but they didn't see the side of him I did. Draco was one of the sweetest people I had ever met, and Salazar's soul if he wasn't just one of the best nannies I had ever seen.

"Draco?" I whispered as I stepped aside to let him in and he stepped inside, taking his shoes off and I enlarged a pair of my slippers, so he didn't have to walk around barefoot.
"Thank you." Draco whispered back as he smiled softly at me, closing the door carefully behind him. "Are the kids asleep?"
I nodded as we walked to the kitchen so I could make us some tea or coffee. I knew I'd be drinking coffee.

"They went down for a nap about forty-five minutes ago and I took that time to clean up." I admitted as Draco pushed me aside and began to brew coffee for the both of us, glaring at me when I tried to complain.
"You need to look after yourself as well. Go take a shower, I'll take care of this." Draco ordered and I shook my head.
"But you're the guest..." My protests died in my throat as I looked at Draco's eyes, him daring me to even try to complain and I sighed. "Fine, I'll be back in ten minutes."

I went to my bedroom and took out a pair of jeans and a black and white button-up shirt before moving to the bathroom for a quick shower, but not before peeking into the kids' room to check on them.
Satisfied that the kids were sound asleep, I moved to the bathroom and took a quick shower, putting on my clothes and deciding to dry my hair and leave it down, knowing that if I put it up the kids would likely ruin it.
I walked back into the kitchen, finding Draco baking muffins.

"If only your mother saw you." I said as he turned around to look at me, wearing my pink apron and I let out a small chuckle.
I summoned my camera and took a picture of him in the apron, laughing at the moving picture of him in my pink apron. "Narcissa will be so thrilled to see this."
Draco narrowed his eyes at me. "Don't you dare."
I smiled coyly at him. "Watch me duplicating it and keeping one for me as well." I said and Draco rolled his eyes before I walked up behind him and peeked at the muffins, he was decorating with some chocolate sprinkles I didn't even know I had.
"Well, we needed something to have our coffee with." Draco said with a small smile as I hugged him and I felt him stiffen.
Draco had never been big on those displays of affection, not really used to them probably, but I knew he liked them.
