Aesira

"Aesira!" I heard Athena scream, I furrowed my brows and lifted myself off my bed. She was supposed to be working. "Aesira!" Her voice got harder and she sounded mad.

"Yes?" I walked out of the room and came face to face with her fuming self. "Are you ok?" I asked concerned. She sighed heavily and started walking away, I trailed after her and into the kitchen. Sitting down on the stool I waiting for her to tell me what she was so mad about. "Don't you work till ten?" I asked her again.

"I was supposed to but Mr. Perez our boss let me off five hours early" she rolled her eyes. Huh? "This random white-haired idiot decided to start drama for no apparent reason. He wouldn't leave me alone and when security tried kicking him out he said he wouldn't go until I left. So he let me off at five." She ranted on while starting to clean. She cleans when she's mad. White-haired idiot.

"How did this man look?" I asked trying to seem subtle.

"He had white hair like I just said" she huffed and started doing the dishes, smashing most of them in the process. "He kept telling me I was a faker, and that my name was ugly and I should have stuck to the old one...what old one!" My eyes went wide. Please don't tell me it's Aaron...

"And what's his name?" I asked her to which she shrugged in response. Fuck. He thought she was me. I and Athena looked alike, but not in a creepy identical way. There were stubble differences between us but for people who didn't know us that well, they'd usually got us mixed up.

"Like I would know, or care—I was trying to be nice too, but the whole time he was dissing me then hitting on me, like make up your mind dude" she through the last dish in the sink roughly that it made a clinking noise when it hit the others. She's going to break it.

"Maybe you should stop cleaning" I scrunched my face and got up to check the sink. Everything was still intact.

"Five hours are gone, I could have made a good amount of money" I placed my hand on her shoulder and rubbed it.

"It's ok, I'll pick up a long shift tomorrow, don't worry about money we're ok" I promised her. She nodded and stalked off quietly to her room.

Crap, Athena's getting tangled into my mess, everything I want to keep her from. She doesn't belong in this world, she doesn't deserve any of it. It'll be my fault if something happens to her.

Reaching into my pocket I grab out my phone planning to send a message to Damon but stop once I see he has already messaged me.

My office. -D

I furrowed my brows and looked at when the message was sent. 1 minute ago. I yell to Athena and leave before she has time to ask me where I'm going. Heading to the elevator I stop abruptly when I hear Jace's door whip open the exact moment I go to pass it.

"Hi" I give him a short nod and while planning to walk away only to be grabbed back. I spun around to face him with a happy facade.

"Aesira feels like ages since I saw you" he laughs, his grip on my arm not loosened. I nod again and give him another nod. "We should catch up," he says more like a statement that I feel the need not to answer.

"Maybe, but right now I'm kind of busy so I'll see you later, yeah?" I ask while slowly peeling his fingers off of my arm. He eventually gets the memo and lets go of me. But his smile never falters.

"Of course, We'll plan something soon" he states, I nod and give him one last smile before I turn and sigh deeply. I didn't mind Jace, he seemed nice, a little too nice admittedly. But there was no reason for me to hate him, maybe finding him annoying yes.
