The tall Ranger swallowed audibly.

"Gilan..."

He recognised the warning undertone by her stretching of the final syllable of his name. When he looked up, he found her glaring at him from the entrance to the restaurant's kitchen.

"Why does it look like six pigs were slaughtered in here?"

Could he tell her without ruining his plan?

"Tell me the truth."

He saw the threatening silhouette of Jenny's laddle lingering in the corner of his eye and instantly knew that, if he were to ask her to come closer so she could see that the drops of blood weren't in fact blood, but red rose petals, the laddle would harshly touch him first, before she'd look. He realised that, no, he could not tell her without ruining his plan.

Internally, he shrugged. He'd have to do it like this, 20 meters apart and her thinking he just murdered someone.

"Will you marry me?"
